GOD! I love Metal Gear Solid, But I will be so pissed off if Snake kills him self. Only stupid weak people kill them self's. It's not an honorable way to die, It's a cowards death.

If you have a computer LCD that is at least 19-24 inches big then you will be fine.

I would not use it on a SDTV, The image quality really sucks compared to HD.

And one more thing!

VGA is lower quality than DVI and HDMI. VGA is analog where as DVI and HDMI are digital. HDMI is basically DVI with the ability to transfer audio signals as well. Along with a bit higher bandwidth.

Or you can just buy a standard HDMI to DVI cable. And if your monitor doesn't support DVI you can always stick a DVI to VGA adapter on the end of the cable.

I have a HDMI to DVI cable connecting my PS3 to my 20.1" HD LCD. Works great, My LCD even has speaker built right into it.

For audio you can just use the standard video/audio cables that came with the PS3 to run audio into a home sound system, or get a simple converter to turn them in to a standard headphone jack and run the sound though a PC speaker system.

It would probably cost less to buy the cable and the converters your self, Sony would probably overcharge for a simple VGA kit just like M$ does for the 40$ 360 Kit. I only paid 15$ for a generic VGA kit for my 360

Why is it that people say they CELL is so much faster? Yes its much much faster than the Tri core in the 360 in hard core number junk. But thats not the point.

Have any of you see any demos (That can be found on youtube) of the CELL doing GPU like rendering? In some of thows demos they have 2 or more CELL CPUs running at over 4GHz pumping out PS2 like graphics.

And if they can only handel PS2 like graphics what makes you think that the single 3.2GHz CELL in the PS3 is going to have enough power to double the rendering preformance of the PS3? Because if its only got enought horse power to render ONE player plus the are the player is in and looking at, at a time then its going to need double that to do it for TWO or more players.

FatChuwawa

You have absolutely no idea how the Cell Processor is built do you? There are 8 individual processors each clocking in at a theoretical 3.2Ghz, one is reserved for the OS and another is held spare leaving 6 processors (at the moment) for the PS3 devs to throw around. Due to the complex nature of the Cell Processor though, it will take a pretty skilled development team to make use of this potential (22.4Ghz in an ideal world) and to my knowledge no game currently in development for PS3 makes 100% use of each processor.

To bad you don't know what you're talking about. The Cell is made up of 7 SPE cores and a PPC core. Do you not know anything about what's currently going on in the PC world? IBM is releasing a GPU based on 4 CELL SPE cores to do HD decoding. That GPU is only about as fast as an 8600GTS in GLOPS performance and if you don't know the 8600GTS is a crap video card.

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/04/08/tosh_samples_spursengine/

So if each SPE in the card puts out about 12 GFLOPS of power then the 6 SPE cores in the CELL CPU at about twice the clock speed will put out about 150 GFLOPS of performance.

Now compare that 150GFLOPS to the 754GLOPS performance of the 9800GTX.

So with 6 SPEs in the CELL you're looking at about the same graphics performance as a low-end desktop PC.

As for the PPC in the CELL which is based on the G5 Architecture from IBM which was released back in 2002 so that's about the same performance as a Pentium 4 of similar clock speed.

I will be picking up this game when it hits the stores and I love my PS3 as a game system and a multi media device but dam stop over hyping things you don't understand.

your a noob

great success! :D

The link that he gave wasnt even to the ps3 cell, it was another one being developed by toshiba.

noob

/thread

The link I gave in my post is to a GPU that uses 4 SPEs of they same type as the CELL CPU.

I then did a little simple math to come to my conclusion, why is it so hard for you people to see just how right I am?

I guess you just cant argue with fan boys.

Back on topic.

Does anyone know how big the city will be compared to vice city? Vice city was the last GTA game I played.

Also is the mean character the same one as from Vice city?

This is a 40GB option only. It doesn't work in the 20,60, or 80GB model.

Mine is Meticulous Penguin, And when I use my nickname Jack (short for Jonathan) I get Meticulous Camel.

I already signed up for the online beta as Geforcejonny.
