Yeah, I made a bit of a wording mistake there. let me fix it to match with my real contention.

Look at every generation, each one bringing something new in terms of game play, bringing something that wasn't previouslyon a PC.

:P

agreed! now the sentence sounds more correct!

So this is why I'm hoping that, and I'm serious, the next gen of consoles come with... A gimmick. We all ready that the WiiU is, and I'm happy with that, and that's what consoles should be competing with each other for, not to become the most powerful system, because they can never win. Look at every generation, each one bringing something new in terms of game play, bringing something that can't be replicated on a PC. But this generation, all we saw was more power.

As for the WiiU - new Nintendo console, as always, day one buy for me. But can i say the same for the other consoles, well, if they come out with a welfare PC again, no point. Seeing as I already own a gaming PC which can kill every aspect of it.

Good thinking pal! nice text. But if you dont mind there is 1 fundamental mistake.

"Look at every generation, each one bringing something new in terms of game play, bringing something that can't be replicated on a PC"

i dont know what you mean cause EVERYTHING can be replicated on a PC. sounds more like fanboy talk than an argument. there is NOTHING that consoles can do and computers cant and there are about milion things that computers can and consoles cant and NEVER will be able.

of course you knew that you can play WII games on the PC on your big TV with original WII controls?as a good example. you wouldn know the diffrence. oh wait. WII games on PC have 1080p with maxed AA/AF so you would.

i guess the biggest problem with the console masses is being blinded by cheap fanboysim and that they are uneducated in gaming and tech stuff.

but i am a fan of the WIUU!i mean the conttroller. it could allow that games specially my beloved rpgs to be NOT dumbed down for bad pad controls like dragon age 2, dungeon siege 3 etc.

will maybe buy one! and i guess about 2-3 month after its released i can happily use the wiiu controller on my PC and there will be probably a dozen of clones that do precisely the same and better

The only thing that influences my decision to buy a console game over a PC game is the multiplayer. None of my friends have gaming PC's so I'm put in a situation where if I want to play with them, I have to get it on the PS3. This is going to be a particularly difficult decision for BF3. I'd love to be able to play with my friends, but at the same time I don't want to miss out on everything the PC version has to offer.

1 more thing. thx pal. i forgot MP which is much better on the PC of course but if all your friends have consoles then its actually good to to have a console to play with them. If you have mostly PC friends or no gaming friends than you dont need one of course. and if you consider MMOS as MP titles than tha answer is simple. they just dont work on the terrible limited gamepad controls. ever imagined to control you high lvl mmo character where you use 30-50 hotkeys with a few button gamepad(gamepad has about 3-5 free usable buttons when you substract all the standard movement and camera controls)? not to speaking of chatting

I have only just returned to PC gaming, I have a decent enough build that lets me play on ultra settings etc... But I am also fortunate in that I have an xbox and PS3.There are the obvious titles that require a PC purchase with no thought, ie RAGE, Battlefield, TotalWar and so on..But what about sports? FIFA12, NBA2k, Formula1?Are there any games that actually benift from being on a console? Other than the console exclusives?

Well that is a difficult question. Normally i would say just No which is the case in 99% cases. But as you said there are the exclusives which would be much better on the PC in the first place and there are some games that are crappy ports and then there are games that are made crappy on purpose by devils like EA. a great example is older FIFAs or this new golf game by EA. This games are made to look bad on the PC ON PURPOSE so you are forced to buy the 10 dollars more expensive version. Then there are evil DRMs probably also here just to force you to buy the more expensive and INFERIOR version (assasins creed)while blaming piracy (which is bigger on consoles but they need a scapegoat mostly to excuse poor sales of a poor game)but if you can live with the DRM thatn the game itself is better of course.or prettier at least.

Except of this cases i would say a big NO. Blind console fanboys and Pc haters who are mostly just jealous kids that cant afford a gaming rig often arguemnt with arguments that are aboslutely laughable and dont make any sense. lets look at few examples:

1. "I hate mouse and keyboard" Great example- as ifyou couldnt play with all the gamepads and control methods that exist on my PC. Even WII controls.

2. "Pcs are expensive" another uneducated argument. When you buy all the consoles and useless gimmicks and count that games are 10 bucks cheaper and dont play for some online service like xbox live- PC gaming is actually cheaper! just the initial cost of a gaming rig SEEMS as to much comapred to just ONE console.

3. "i dont want to be a nerd glued to the monitor. i want to play on TV and sit on a sofa" Another stupid argument. its is nothing easier than plug your pc via HDMI cable into your gigantic hdtv. it is possible even wireless

4. "i want to play the title XY classic released on xbox or ps via download" well what can i say. PC is EVERYTHING from the PONG machine up to PS2 and WII. ever heard of emulation? Your old PS/PS2/GAMECUBE/SNES game that you bought and own is perfectly playable and you dont need to waste space in your flat for this old heroes. consoles have just few titles released . you can play them all if you own them that is!YOu can play your WII games on the PC with original WII controls in a quality that the WII is not capable of. actaully most of this oldies that are now rereleased as crappy so called "HD" ports are just poor upscales with no work done of them. for example residel evil 4 and code veronica. Why would you want to pay for this games again 10 or 20 bucks when you can play them in fullFD with 16x AA and AF which consoles are not capable of? why would you want tou waste money if you can play for example your copy of SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS in a resolution that the PS5 if there is one wont have? not to speaking of "fast forward" for boring random encounters or "quick save" for every game in every situation even in a cutscene.

to make and end to it (i am tired of typing) the exclusives are the only reason.and there really are just a few of them that are actually worth playing. depends what games do you prefer.

if there are no exclusives there is NOT ANY SINGLE REASON to own a consoles if you have a gaming rig.thats why exclusives are ther for! to force ppl into bying something they dont need.
