id believe this. it would hardly matter though. a strong third party lineup could well tide microsoft over until their internally developed stuff is up to par. it isnt as though they wont launch their console without at least 2 first party games. a bigger concern of theirs is no doubt the hardware. they cant afford a fiasco of RROD levels. people need to be realistic in their assumptions though. microsoft isnt very reactionary - i dont think anything sony showed at their unveiling "caught ms with their pants down." sure, theyre changing things up a bit, just as sony will once microsoft shows its hand, but come on. sure doesnt paint the strongest picture though.
@MadMartin @Patohua1 The Journey was actually quite good. it has the best told story of all the games in my opinion. the controls didnt work all the time, so i could understand people not liking it.
changes in consumer taste MIGHT account for poor sales, but its only been out a week. it might end up doing reasonably well somewhere along the line. but i dont think kinect will stop being a part of the fable franchise going forward. i doubt this game was purely created on molyneuxs whim and not lionhead trying to diversify their portfolio. theyll marry what they learned during the production of this game with the core series, of that im sure. it wouldnt make sense otherwise. also, i dont think the hardcore crowd was ever going to care whether the game got decent scores or not. theyre not playing kinect, or are they?
always sad to see people let go from their jobs. my father was recently unemployed for some time, but things worked themselves out. hopefully microsoft finds these people a position somewhere, and soon. and to everyone who thinks this is as a result of fable the journeys low scores, i really doubt thats the reason. great game.
really hope it ends up coming to the 360 as well. i literally went out and bought it on release after reading frank cifaldis review over on 1up.com. i love this game.
i think this will be a lot larger than people think, even if it doesnt radically change things. ive always imagined a music streaming service that could integrate with my xbox while i play games, and i hope this could be just that. songs stored in the cloud could be jamming away while i blast fools online. no need for having your mp3s stored onto your harddrive, or having your ipod connected via the 360s usb cable. apps already exist on the xbox. thats what i thought lastfm would be back when it first launched. microsoft is making a big push with their whole windows 8 platform, and where i see this working is, surprisingly, with the paid model on xbox 360s. theyve already got a large subscriber base with xbox live - it would be simplest thing to have those people upgrade over to Xbox Music, especially if they could then, as microsoft says, access their music on other devices, including android and iOS.
