When I got Mafia 2, I played through it in two sittings... which was about 4 hours the first time, and 8 the second.

Mafia 2 is underappreciated, people will realise that in five years. :)

That every game "needs" a multiplayer.

No, no magnets or speakers or anything else.

To speak the truth, I haven't really noticed it lately. It's still there when I look for it, but I hardly ever look at the edge of the screen. Besides, even if I look for it, the entire screen has to have the same color, which cannot be too dark nor too light, to spot it. Watched Avatar a few hours ago, hardly ever saw it even when I was looking for it.

Lately I have noticed that my HDTV (Hyundai 32 inch) has a slight discoloration on the edge of the left side of the creen. The color inside this small "crack" is slightly lighter than it is supposed to be. This is hardly, if even noticable when playing games or watchiing bluray, but if I am playing something where there isn much going on on the screen at any given time, or maybe with great scenary (Red Dead Redemption, Oblivion) the discoloration is more visable, as you focus on the entire screen than only the center. Or watching football.

Does anyone know what might have caused this? The TV has never been exposed to any sort of violence

There's no switch on the back, so when it freezes I just press the I/O button (the start button on the front of the console) once and after a few seconds it delivers three beeps and turns off.

I have yet to receive an "error report" of any kind when I go back into the Playstation again. I suppose that's the differnce between pressing the button and holding it.

I have had the slim ps3 for like 2 months now and it has never froze on me during playing video game. It did froze on me once or twice during internet browser.

BH14

I guess it totally depends on what you play. It's not like all of my games have frozen, just a few selected ones, which I found out after some reading had some issues.

(Well, I haven't done any "research" on my Mafia II demo freeze, but that was a demo and I guess you will find a bug if you play it enough)

I just get paranoid when these freezes occur, but now I know that my PS3 isn't gonna die. :)

Everyone plays Red Dead Redemption online, I find games at all hours. Maybe your connection is poor.
