@Richardthe3rd: I'm fairly certain we can say Dany went crazy when she slaughtered innocent women and children, especially when she never did such a thing in prior seasons.
Her hand Tyrion even told her that if they heard the bells ringing, that she should accept their surrender, but instead she completely ignored it and burned King's Landing to the ground. She killed slavers, soldiers in war, and corrupt people in power, but innocent blood was never on her hand until this last season.
@waven101: Her brother was an absolute piece of shit and I would've felt the exact same way as Dany did. Like I said, she has a darker side to her, but nothing whatsoever hinted at her going mad.
@Richardthe3rd: You're free to disagree and enjoy the season. I'm not saying you shouldn't. Personally, I just don't like how the final season was handled. Though I mostly put the blame on George R. R. Martin for taking so long to finish his books since he could only give barebone details to the show writers.
@ValedictorianXD: The books hint at the Targaryen madness much better than the live-action series does. Dany's madness is thrown at us right out of left field with no build up whatsoever. Even her father the Mad King didn't go insane overnight, it took many years of paranoia for him to become what he did.
With respect to Stephen King, he's missing the point. We're not mad that Dany went apeshit on King's Landing. We're mad because the execution was pisspoor and there was little to no build-up to justify the sudden change.
While she most certainly has a darker side (crucifixion and burning people alive with dragonfire as examples) there was absolutely nothing in the series that hinted at her being like her father and it all just came out of nowhere in the last season.
@uberDave: Exactly this. Couldn't have said it better myself. People who blindly defend Roseanne while giving James Gunn shit have absolutely no idea what's going on.
