There are some who seem to dislike the new Gamespot homepage but those complaints i read seem mostly of cosmetic or structural nature. Personally i can adapt to new design choices and don't care about those changes.

However, I have a more serious issue (to the point where after years and years i actually consider not visiting Gamespot any more): compared to the old GS page this new homepage is almost the only one that makes my computer stutter and cough and jiggle and twist and process like hell, almost to the point of freezing it completely (don't even ask how long it took me to get into this section). Maybe due to its new complexity or due to whatever's going on in the background, i don't know, i don't care, it simply does not work as smoothly as before.

Maybe for a lot of you guys it probably still runs perfectly fine and maybe i have to blame myself for not having a super computer build-up for internet surfing BUT WHY SHOULD I. it works perfectly fine for basically every other page on the net.

so enough of my whining, consequently there's only one choice for me unfortunately: Bye bye Gamespot, i've been loyal for years and maybe i'll check back from month to month, year to year just to check if those framerate issues still bother my PC but until then... *erase bookmark*, aaaaaaand done (omg, i really did).

c u, maybe...

UPDATE: wow, just checked out demo 2 and they really DID improve on the keeper animations and reactions! demo 1 probably still had the "old" bad keeper animations from 2010-2012. so i hereby withdraw my criticism (at least to a large extent) and i'm looking forward to an excellent game for every field position ;) go PES!!!

looks to become an excellent game so far BUT for the love of gawd, what's with the belly drop and double knee saves???

seriously, there is no (and i mean not one single) professional keeper that i know of who dives with a belly drop, and in such an unmotivated way - *cough* bag of potatoes *cough* - at least have them jump slighty and then do a little roll or a small slide on their side like they do in real life DUE TO PHYSICAL LAWS!

and then there's the (what i like to call) "ice-hockey butterfly" save  - again, not only strange behaviour but totally unrealistic for a football keeper. let me elaborate briefly: the purpose of a football keeper's position and movement is to lessen the shooting angle. hence, if a keeper is at an especially short distance to a shooting attacker, e.g. 1on1, he stretches every possible limb and thus improves the chances of at least a lucky save (not to mention that a keeper usually stays on his feet for as long as he can to stay mobile and agile). what a football keeper certainly doesn't do is to drop to his knees, sitting on his legs as if excessively closing his five hole and keep his hands almost glued to the pitch (=> the "ice-hockey butterfly"), if you know which particular animation i mean...

oh, and since we're dealing with football not ice-hockey: foot saves for shots from outside the box?? seriously...?

these particular keeper animations concerned me ever since they were introduced in PES around 2010/2011 and for some unknown reason they still exist. PES does everything to be as realistic as possible (and kudos they have achieved near perfection lately) but why on earth such unrealistic keeper animations and reactions? and it brings tears to my eyes that they had it quite right in earlier PES versions already...

apologies, i guess i'm just a goalkeeper nerd PES fan blabbing about issues that you guys probably couldn't care less - sorry for that

first, i wanted to point out, i haven't played the full game, only the demo on XBLive.

there was lots of discussion going on about people saying "no way i'm going to buy consoles that block used games" or "no way i'm going to buy games that have day 1 dlc or locked content on the disc" and then continuing "what's next? games sold in chapters each for $$$?"... errm, i might be wrong but isn't that exactly what's happening here already?

it seems to me there's a recent tendency of releasing more 'high quality' games online only (i am alive, alan wake's nightmare etc.). not bad games, mind you, but still a kind of AAA tidbits to releave us from some MS points quicker than, let's say, peggle or other arcady games or even full AA/A games. and since they're online only purchases it's the first step of 'blocking' used games, if you know what i mean. and now here comes 'the walking dead' - not only online only but cut into episodes and according to chapter 1's full game size (about 430 MB) a rather short one too (correct me if i'm wrong). i know 400 MS points doesn't sound a lot but buying all 5 episodes eventually and you're at 2000 points for a game of about 2.5 GB? this already might be unreasonable for some but my biggest concern, it stays 2000 points unless Msoft changes the price tag... yyyeah right...!

i've got that strange feeling someone has launched the future of gaming in front of my nose while someone else is pickpocketing my wallet. throwing hybrid games at me, not arcade size or quality but not full games in the sense of scope or value. clever selling strategies tested on the very same people who ranted about blocking used games, day1 dlc and overpriced games, de facto 'blocking' used game sales at whatever price they want. my guess, if this formet is successful the next step will be to increase the price tag for episodes of upcoming games.

any thoughts?
