1UP had fantastics podcasts - the best on the web. And although Shane is a stereotypical elitist nerd, his knowledge of games and the industry made for intriguing conversation in 1UP Yours and Retronauts - not to mention the apparent death of the divinely awesome video podcast Broken Pixels (if you haven't seen them, GO NOW).

....it looks like we've only got left:

a) Greg Miller screaming BEYOND for 40 minutes,

b) Hilary Goldstein talking about Lost for 40 minutes,

c) Matt Cassamassina deadpanning sarcasm concerning Nintendo

e) and the HotSpot, which I won't insult for obvious reasons.

1UP, until we meet again, you are... ghost.

Are the 360 elites shipping with transfer cables in the boxes?

Updating perhaps?

We don't know yet, but we do know that Nintendo will start making Wii's with DVD movie playback in the future (once the Wii Demand starts lowering).lancea34
I hope not. DVD playback is completely pointless at this point. I've got 7 DVD capable machines in my house right now. If we have a Wii redesign (a Wiidesign, if you will) I would only want the absolutely necessary upgrades to keep the price down, because I'm sure to buy one.

Not a big rpg fan are you? Working Designs didn't make rpgs, they ported them from Japan. They are remember fondly by many longtime rpg fans because they localized with care back when others were content with Japanlish though once the genre became popular they died because they died because A) many companies started bring over rpgs themselves and B) they lacked the money to win competitive bidding processes for the quality games.CarnageHeart

I reference three obscure RPGs and you draw the conclusion that I'm not a big fan?

Not a big fan of deducing, are you? :P

[QUOTE="dominae"][QUOTE="Archangel3371"]Oh yeah most definately. I can only imagine how stunning a 2D game would look on the powerful systems these days.SteelAttack

That tastes like sarcasm. It doesn't taste all that funny.

Someone's sarcasm detector is broken. :P

Archangel wasn't being sarcastic. And I wholeheartedly agree with him.

I'm glad. I love the Nippon Ichi offerings, and I'm curious to see how Disgaea 3 looks with that supercomputer running it.

And now, a moment of silence for Working Designs, master craftsmen of 2D RPGs.

Max Payne 1 and 2 are masterpieces in terms of the quality of there stories.nbalive4life
Max Payne 2's tagline was "A Film Noir Love Story", wasn't it?

I never played the first two. were they any good?

The NES Kid Icarus was fun, but terribly hard for beginners. The Game Boy version was much more forgiving. SSBB should allow you to demo Kid Icarus (assuming you're one of the bajillion people who bought the game).
