So my friend wants to get MW3, and if he does I will so I can play with him, but I have some questions about MW3 and the Cod franchise as a whole. I already own Black Ops, and have rented MW2 and WaW before:

- How is the connection on MW3? I have Black Ops and enjoy it, but the connection is just so terrible that 90% of my deaths are due to it: connection is literally the difference between me going 35-1 or 20-10.I've heard that the connection for MW3 is better, but can anyone confirm this?

- More on connection: is there anyone from the NZ/Aus region that can confirm the quality of the connection?

- On DLC: I remember renting WaW and struggling to find games since the regular playlists had DLC maps in them. I haven't experienced this in Black Ops, so I assume they don't do that anymore? What is the policy on DLC implementation, will MW3 eventually have DLC maps in regular playlists, or will they remain seperate?

- On balance: how does it compare to Black Ops? Black Ops was okay balance wise in my experience, I could counter basically every kill streak and no weapons were ridiculous. MW2 on the other hand was too far. I know MW3 has stacking killstreaks again and there is the support package, yet I haven't heard as much backlash on balance.

Finally, would you recommend MW3, or would you recommend a different COD game? Or neither?

[QUOTE="anime_gamer007"]

If by "enjoy" you mean it'll make you want to pull your hair, kick babies and set kittens on fire then yes, it will.

I'm not joking either.

i_H_U_R_D_u

Well not really. People still camp and abuse overpowered weapons like the ak-7u. But its fun to play with friends and own noobs like anime_gamer007. (no affence) :D

There are no really overpowered guns. But every SMG other than MP5k, Ak7u are terrible, and the shotguns aren't too great. Sniping is alright, quickscoping is harder which is good. Basically the problems with the game are almost solely due to lag/connection and other performance issues.

Demons Souls is a worse RPG than The Witcher when it comes to the role playing elements, although I'd say Demons Souls is a better game. You can't win here though TC. PCs can run almost anything providing the developer is decent with 60+ FPS and 1080p or higher resolution, with tons of anti aliasing effects and lighting effects etc. Our consoles simply cannot. Sure, animations are at this point relatively equal on both. So what. Your title implies that PCs can't have as good animation. That is factually wrong, consoles are simply much weaker PCs, you could make any console game a PC game and it would look better with proper optimization. Consoles will never catch PCs in regards to resolutions, frame rates and all the other AA/lighting/rendering jazz.

As someone who was hyped to hell and back when the game came out... It was a flop, for the hardcore audience. I was hoping for a Diablo II meets FPS experience, as it was basically marketed. But it had no depth. It was much too easy (Siren + Firefly + Phoenix + Daze = Easy win). This meant that any possible loot grinding aspect was wasted, as there was no point to the loot grinding. No ridiculously tough secret bosses, or secret areas. Almost every enemy or area was in the main story: this took out all of the exploration. All hope of an endgame was lost as there simply was none. If you can beat the story, you can beat every enemy in the game. And any potential PVP aspect was also ruined by balance (Mordecai's Bloodwing is basically a OHKO on any player, even a siren during a phasewalk.) So while the game is great fun playing through the single player in coop the first time through, it lacks any sort of depth and gets old quickly, with no endgame to speak of.

Well unless MW3 has dedicated servers and is balanced, no. Black Ops is my only cod game, and I won't buy another with this kind of horrible matchmaking filled with host migrations and poor, laggy connections.

But it doesn't change the fact that they lost loads of sales, no matter if they make a profit, the end result is that they would have made lots more making the game with difficulty settings to choose from.Venom_Raptor
They didn't lose one sale. You don't have any idea why the game sold so much, do you? *Game releases in Japan* ---> A good famitsu review focusing on the hardcore challenge of the game causes hardcore gamers on NeoGAF to import it ---> Through the Neogaf OT for the game, many more buy import it from world of mouth (like me) ---> Atlus sees that game is selling well and it would be worth it to bring it to USA and Europe ---> *Game releases in USA to great reviews and respectable sales* If the game wasn't challenging, it would be terrible. And nobody would've brought it. Sounds like you found the game hard or something. Do you play sport? Then you would know that the reason it's so gratifying to win a tournament, is because it's difficult, and requires work. With Demons Souls, it requires skill, knowledge of the levels, practice, to beat a level: it's much more gratifying when you do.

NO NO NO NO NO. It's impossible to add multiplayer to a game without it impacting single player. Resources used on the multiplayer side take away from the single player resources. Now if you want to make a new ip based around it, fine, but on an existing game? No way in hell.
