I've been looking at some headsets with mics by sennheiser and steelseries that I can use primarily on my PC but on my Xbox One as well, so if it could plug into the Xbox controllers 3.5mm jack that would be ideal. Still have not been able to determine which one to go with. I'm also needing advice on a DAC to use with the headset, which I have not spent as much time researching so I'm more open to suggestions.

I'm not as concerned with cost, but more with audio and build quality. Ideally I would like to stay under $400 for headset and DAC.

Right now I'm using my MSI Z370 Gaming M5 mobos on board audio - my old sound card was causing some circulation issues with my GPU and was a little outdated.

Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

@howmakewood: I'm thinking the same thing. I upgraded to a 970 kind of late instead of a 980 and it was already about average for high - ultra settings.. I was originally planning on doing sli down the road but that just seems to have heat issues and be a power suck. Seems like I can get a 1080 for about $500 and sell my 970 for $150-200. Next I will probably trade out my ram and then CPU.

@BassMan: I should have stated its an LG 34um88c-p monitor which I believe has a 60Hz refresh rate. So my CPU should be ok with that monitor?

@mighty-lu-bu: I play a lot of games on my PC. But recently Total War Warhammer 2 which runs extremely poor. That might be more of an issue with the game rather than my set up. Battlefield, Dirt 4 and Wolfenstein. Those games run fine but I do need to turn down a lot of settings to get 60fps.

Is there a hierarchy you guys would suggest in upgrading? It sounds like GPU first (1080), but what about the rest of the components? CPU or RAM next? I am not sure what CPU or ram to go with.

@ArchoNils2: $500 is my target. A 1080Ti was a little over that. If I'm having to go over $500 I'd rather get a cheaper GPU and upgrade some of my other components that need it.

I'm getting the urge to upgrade my dated PC. I'm wondering what the community thinks would be the most cost effective upgrade(s).

Current set up -

Monitor - 1440 ultrawide
GPU - GIGABYTE 970 4GB G1 Gaming OC Edition
CPU -I5-3570k 3.4GHz
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB DDR3 1600
HDD - Samsung 850 EVO SSD
MOBO - ASRock Z77 Extreme6 LGA 1155

I am looking into a 1080 or 1070 Ti but I feel like the rest of my setup will be a major bottleneck. What do you guys think? I was originally trying to spend under $500 but now I'm thinking around $1k. Thanks for any advice!

I am getting this screen when I try to set my Xbox X to 4k.. Does this mean my TV won't support full 4k? My TV is a Samsung UN55JU6700F

I haven't given a Madden game a chance since NFL2k series - a WAY better NFL game in every single aspect. EA is having a free Madden 16 weekend so I gave it a shot. It's about as bad as i remember but I'm kind of desperate for an NFL game - something EA is aware of and most likely the reason they have annual releases of the same mediocre game.

My question is, I got this on X1 and the server connection is HORRIBLE. I have 100Mbs internet so its not my issue. Ive been trying to play franchise but I'm 2-0 and I've played probably 10 games.. Any time EA's servers disconnect (which is about every 5-10 minutes) I lose all progress and have to start over.. For some reason it wont let me progress unless i maintain an immaculate connection to impossible servers. Is this a common problem or are they just being overloaded bc of the free weekend? And also is there a difference between the X1 version and PS4 version? I'm not sure which one I should get if this issue can be resolved.
