Finally...I'm Done #2

The second installment in my game-completion blog post. New additions are in bold.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

Super Mario 64 (N64)

Luigi's Mansion (GC)

Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic (PC)

Tales of Symphonia (GC)

Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)

Call of Duty 4 (PS3)

Assassins Creed (PS3)

Now I'll write a short little thing about the game(s) I recently completed.

Assassins Creed (PS3)- Extremely fun game, amazing graphics, gets slightly repetitive in the late part, amazing storyline/ending, can't wait for the sequel.

Starting From Scratch

Today, I've spent most of the day deleting all of my rated and reviewed games. I've started over rating some of them, and so far have reviewed one game.

Finally...I'm Done #1

My frequent inability to completely finish a game has prompted me to start a category of my blog, in which I say what game I have just completed and then add it to my ever-growing list. Since I have not recently finished a game I'll just start this with the games I have already completed in chronological order.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

Super Mario 64 (N64)

Luigi's Mansion (GC)

Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic (PC)

Tales of Symphonia (GC)

Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)

Call of Duty 4 (PS3)

The Will To Win

Now, as some of you know, I am a wrestler. However, this is my first year. Sadly enough I had gone winless for my first four matches of the season. Yesterday, we had a JV Tournament and something clicked. Once again I didn't win one match, obviously I didn't win two matches either. That's right I won three matches! It was a double elimination tournament that I went 3-2 in and placed 5th. I think I'm finally beginning to understand this sport, and might be able to improve on my career record of 3-6.

Anyways, generally if I can't make it on gamespot at least once a day its probably because of wrestling. :P

Wii Hate: 5 Reasons Why I Hate The Wii

Now, I'm not one of those people, who never tries something, and says they hate it. (Like a 5-year old and spinach.) I got the Wii as a graduation present and absolutely loved it for 5 months. However, as I continued to play the Wii, I began noticing certain things. Now, some of the things that I hate about Nintendo's baby boy may not be mutual between me and other Wii players. But there a certain things that I can't stand that really make me mad. For example, (these don't relate to the Wii), things not being centered, odd numbers, music really low but not off, etc. Keep in mind, all of these are opinion based, and if you disagree, refrain from calling me an idiot, moron, retard

5) Nintendo decided to make their gaming system white.

Alright, I don't neccessarily hate the Wii for this, but come on. Wouldn't it look absolutely sick in black?

4) The lack of Internet Gaming on the system.

The Wii is Nintendo's first system with the potential to be an exciting internet based system. They could have taken the idea of the DS, to a whole new level. Instead, they decided not to incorporate online as a big factor in the system, thus far.

3) Games often freeze when playing the Wii.

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but at least whenever I play Madden 08 for the Wii, there is a menu, at the completion of a game, where 1 out of 5 times the system will freeze. Not the game, the system. The oh-so-great home button on the wii remote fails to work in this situation as well. So does the power button. Leaving me only one option. The good'ol unplug. The thing everyone used to do to the crappy computers at the beginning of the millenium. Yes, pulling the plug and watching all the data you've completed in the last hour go away forever is extremely enjoyable.

2) Bugs with the Wii Controllers.

Of all the things on this list, this is the one that happens to me most often, and the one that prompted me to write this blog. I own 3 of these controllers, and they have all developed their own habits. For some reason the "innovative" wii remotes have selected a certain remote to be "The Chosen Wii Remote. No matter how many times I restart, unplug, or turn off the system one of the remotes is always the only one to turn on. Strangely enough, it always activates as player 2. Meaning, if that controller was missing batteries I would be screwed. This situation wouldn't be so bad if the controller wasn't the only controller that randomly disconnected during gameplay. Meaning that I lose every online game on Madden instantly. (Madden is one of the few Wii Online Games) The physical actions you do with the remotes don't always correspond to whats suppossed to be happening on screen. Additionally, it takes way too long to connect and reconnect the Wii Controllers.

1) The thing I hate the most about the Wii, is common to all Nintendo systems. The reason being is that its Nintendo. All of my life, I've told myself that Nintendo is the company. I mean, I've owned the N64, Gamecube, Wii, and Gameboy(s): Color, SP, DS. Not to mention the hundreds of Nintendo games I've amassed over the years. However, one must look at the facts. Nintendo has aimed itself in the direction of children. Recently an M Rated Nintendo game is harder to find than a needle in a haystack. Even classic games like madden have been perverted by Nintendo to a point where you wonder why they did this. The WWE Game series was also bad, hold on, TERRIBLE, for the Wii. What Nintendo is selling to we consumers nowdays, is cheap ($$$), durable systems that don't stay interesting long.

In conclusion, I can not stand the Wii. Its a wonderful idea, and defitnitly was on the right track, but it needs a lot of work. Hopefully Nintendo will attempt to fix the major problems, and once again climb to the top of the video game ladder. However, as of this moment...I...hate...the...Wii.
