Hmm seems like for better or worse, this bikini-sniper snafu has a lot of people talking about Metal Gear 5 even though it's release is still a long ways off. Kind of like that much publicized voice actor controversy, divisive stuff but you can't deny the buzz it generated. One might think all of this could be somewhat intentional if the creator of this series were some mad genius known for toying with his fans. But that's obviously not the case here so lets take everything at face value and go nuts.
I'm not as bothered by Bioware's poor handling of ME3 as most people, but that would have been too much. I think they owed something for charging extra for by far the most interesting member of the smallest party in the series.
@Acex02 That's IO not Eidos, but I'd be worried about any studio under the Square umbrella these days. Which is really unfortunate as Deus Ex, Sleeping Dogs, Absolution and Tomb Raider are some of my favorite games from the past few years.
@jd7904 @d_train73 Pipe down PC elite, everyone knows PC will always be the most cutting edge. And it will also be a small fraction of the market for dedicated hobbyists. PS4 and XB1 are exactly as powerful as I think they are; which is more than powerful enough for me, all in one box that I don't need to worry about for the next 5+ years.
The Wii U is an interesting concept of controller tech and dual screen interface but that's all it should have been, a prototype of this interesting tech that could go into Nintendo's 8th gen system. Instead they launched a 6.5 gen system in the Wii and a 7.2 gen in the Wii U. I don't see how they remain competitive with home consoles if they're always a step behind. Unless they release a kick-ass PS4/XB1 level system by fall of 2014 they'll have completely lost a place in this gen. I'd bet that they go full Sega and I'm playing Mario on Playstation in 10 years or less.
@SkyAboveThePort @d_train73 No, far from it. Keep up your unceasing negativity and whining though. You're a great example of what I hope to never become.
Bioware is still one of the best. So what if the last chapter of the massive, 3-game spanning, space opera didn't exactly match your lofty expectations? Who care that the last DA was only good and not excellent like its predecessor?
I'm glad that I haven't become so jaded as to lose the sense of wonder that games like this even exist. I could only dream of something like Mass Effect or Dragon Age when I was playing Rebel Assault and old Zelda games. BW has made some of my all time favorites over the years and I'm still excited for whats next. Even their worst is still better than 90% of games today.
Joel's decision is justifiable beyond his obvious selfish desire. I think the creation of a viable cure even with Ellie's brain was far from a sure thing. Never mind successful manufacture and distribution by a struggling paramilitary group. There are many examples that the earth seems to be flourishing despite humanity's despair. Tommy's group has the right idea to rebuild on our ruins, but with a culture that accepts humanity's smaller role in a forever changed world. If people with immunity are being born only six years into the plague, I'd say long-term adaptation or symbiosis is far from impossible and a smaller, more responsible society could arise from letting nature take its course.
