so the evolution of stealth is that its dying a slow death that's suddenly speeding up? There's an interesting balance of fear and power in stealth games and when you take away the power you just have fear, then what you have is survival horror. if survival horror incorporated stealth (give me examples if any have) then would you gain power and lose the horror?

Also, DX wasn't a stealth game, it was an FPS RPG that incorporated stealth. My favourite stealth game was MGS then Splintercell.

@endorbr I believe that when developers use that buzz phrase they're really saying that they are trying to go where the money is, i.e. if a 'buyer' says they want 'this thing in their game' then we'll give it to them because they'll pay for it, as opposed to if a 'gamer' wants this particular feature then we 'care' about their experience and want it to be good for them. Ultimately they DON'T care what we as gamers think unless it's a way for them to target their demographic more accurately and get more $$$ in the end. Sounds cynical I know but its a sentiment that can be argued with less and less and less as the years go by.

@Psmitty456 I agree with both of you, parents need to be active figures in their children's lives and anything that suggests they aren't (such as saying easier said than done) to me is an excuse for not having the wisdom, maturity and strength needed to be a parent, however I also understand that parents do face difficulties in child rearing. I had video games by the time I was 11/12 years old and they taught me to have an attention span because they remained interesting for a long period of time. going further than that and sitting in front of a PC/TV for hours and hours on end, or worse, being PUT in that position I believe isn't constructive for youthful beings. instead of it being a place where an imagination can be catered to, played with and encouraged, extended periods of immersion inside of a SCREEN takes over the ability to have an imagination to begin with.

@Doomrul stop telling us what to talk about. you sound like a fascist trying to control what direction these conversations go in. if talking about games leads us to talking about movies and real life violence then good because the fact is we are communicating and communication is the ONLY way we are going to solve any social or global problems.

@CruiserCaptain yes I'll third that. GREAT SHOW, don't think we don't like the show cause we really do, but better equipment and audio consistency is needed.

@Elite_Bushido Have we actually seen any footage of the re-release yet? cause the teaser was all original Doom3.

@-spAce If you're referring to the 'look' of the footage in the trailer: there's no way that trailer was footage of the HD update, that was all the original Doom3. Which I found very disappointing, I want to see actual updates not a teaser.

@Hyrel_stone I find it hard to believe when I hear stories about this game not being very popular etc. It was seriously one of the greatest games of all time and such a fantastic FPS. There are few games that I found actually tense and frightening to play, this was one of them, Silent Hill was another one (when I was 14 anyway) and yes being forced to turn off the lights to shoot something was a key ingredient.
