Addictive Gaming

by on

Hope everyone is well, if I haven't said it already (still forget things) the divorce is final, and after 14 years one cant be prepared for that. But I'm moving along ok. But I have a severe addiction. Dead Nation. Not much to this game, but I tend to play thru it every two days. My PS3 won't go online even with a CAT5 from the modem, so I can't get the add on yet. If you haven't played it, I think it was 5-10 bucks and worth every penny.

Peace All,

Bryan

Bioshock 1 & 2

by on

Ok, I've made myself a semi-promise. I WILL not replay the first two Bioshock's until the new one comes out. These two are among my favorite games of all time (plus the God of War Series), and I seem to replay them every few months. Especially 2. With the new SSX coming out later this month, finally, I'll have a game I can play a ton til Infinite. Not much else going on, what do you all think about the Bioshock series?

Peace,

Bryan

My Absence

by on

Hello All, there have been many changes in my life lately. The one that kept me away from GS the most happened about a year ago or so. I was in a pretty serious car wreck, only bruised, but I had a serious concussion ( I've never had one before). Soon because of my loss of balance and whatnot, I then had 3-4 more in a period of a couple of months. I lost nearly all short term memory (needless to say would have made my posting or moderation duties gibberish) , which thankfully has come back. I still have a skull "bruise" that I've undergone tests on and have another one scheduled. VERY slowly things started coming back to normal and I think I have most of my memory back, I still have to write everything down I want/need to remember, but that's ok. All and all, I'm lucky. I was dodging a big-rig turning into me and fell into a 8-10 foot ditch and flipped ??? many times. Doing fine now, and for my first real wreck that was a doozy. Back to really playing games (next blog post: Saint's Row, Uncharted 3, Batman AA, and AC Revelations OMG!!! AC!!!). So I hope everyone is doing well and I'll be back on here much more often, if anyone cares :P.

Hello All

by on

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, ect....I've been MIA for a bit. Had some personal mess to deal with, and right when I got back to wanting to spend time on GS my laptop decided it would be great fun to catch on fire. So now that everything seems to be sorting itself out I'm glad to be back on GS again and seeing what's going on in the forums, plus tons of blogs to catch up on. Hope to see you all in the forums.

Take Care,

Bryan

It's Not Even Funny

I'm sure you'll think this is a joke, but alas I broke the joint going to my big toe on the other foot last night. So now walking, driving, ect... is an utter chore. I must be fixing to win the lottery soon, no other explanation. So let's all have a good laugh, everyone at my house did yesterday. So to update I have a 10 lb boot on my right foot, and a cast on my left. What's next? I'm afraid to ask!

7 Years!

by on

Well I've hit the 7-year mark at GS now. Doesn't seem that long at all. I want to thank all the great members of the few unions I'm in: Old Folks Home, Atheism Union, FAU, and others that make for great places to go for different discussions. Of course the OT is where I call "home" and there are so many to thank for making it fun to keep coming back. You all know who you are, I've made some really great people here I'm proud to call friends. And of course to GS, for continuing to imporve, for giving me the opportunity to be a moderator (and to each mod, if you've helped me directly, or you didn't know it and I was watching your response to an item and learned from you, or how you conducted yourself in the forums) and help out a bit to the site I've grown to love and spend much of my net time on. Hope everyone has a great day, and weekend!

Peace,

Bryan

Getting Better

by on

Ok, so follow-up visit to the Dr was yesterday. No surgery needed, thank God!. Still hurts like hell, but at least it's getting better. The bone is healing ok. Looked very strange on the X-Ray, because it's a long break the body produces a lot of bone around it, and it will heal, and supposedly the excess will wear off or absorb back into the body. Very strange X-Ray photos, wish I had one to put up here. Only 2 more weeks to stay off it and I should be good to go. Sadly I finished RDR last night . What a game. Don't know what to get now, going today to find something to occuppy my massive amount of time on the couch :P. After talking to a couple of AC dealers I didn't like any of the AC options, so we bought 4 window units, that I know we can sell on Craigslist or something, and they are doing just fine keeping the house cool, I'll buy a whole new unit this winter when they drop in price. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July here in the states.

When it rains it pours....

As followers of this here blog(like that Arkansas slang!) know I recently broke my foot and probably did more damage in the meantime. Imagine my surprise this morning waking up hot as hell. Literally. Of course our AC unit's compressor went out. Yes I have a bit of a nest egg, but not enough for a new unit, and the work I could do to get it quickly is the windshield repair which isn't happening anytime soon since I can only hop. #@$*$*%*%&*%*%$(@()@!)! Thankfully we have an attic fan, so nights should be in the mid 70's, but today it read 101 in the house. Luckily Jo took the girls out swimming all day, lets hope for a good break. I have no intention in getting into debt for a X thousand dollar new unit, and he said the compressor would make it good as new. UGGGH!

On other news, RDR has kept me occupied, greatly. I'm almost done, and only have a few master hunter missions to go. Top notch game all around, cannot recommend it enough! Also I don't really like the new Wii, but the twins sure do, and Addy is a natural :). Zoey just likes playing, but Addy pays attention, another future gamer!

Peace All,

Bryan

The Good Part About A Broke Foot=E3

by on

As you well may know I've been put on the shelf for a few weeks because of a broken foot and torn tendons. They want to wait 2 weeks to see if my tendons heal any before they have to do surgery. I'm pretty sure that when of my daughters had an accident and my insticts took over and I ran 20 feet to her, to just fall down I've continued to do damage :P.

On to E3. My heads kinda spinning from all that I've seen and read over the last few days. I thought RDR, GOWIII & Bioshock 2 would make this a great year regardless, but after seeing AC: Bloodlines, MGS's new game, Killzone 3, Dead Space 2, Crysis 2 and so many others. Also, IMO, overpriced but intriguing motion controllers coming out for PS3 and 360 I'm excited for the next 6 months. E3 keeps getting better, and every quarter it seems like there are at least one, sometimes multiple AAA titles.

Oh, and I've been doing most of this laying out by the pool all week, won't pour salt on the wound with pics, but we've had great weather, and net connection works just fine out there as well. God I don't want to go back to the real world .

Hope you all had fun and checked out some of the great new games coming out!
