The Wait is Killin' Me!!!!

Its only 3 days until Christmas. :D I simply can't wait and I still have a day of school which I don't know how I'm gonna handle. Also, I have one more movie to talk about on Sunday. So what will all of you be doing on Sunday? Anything special?

Holiday Film Extravaganza #4: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

cover

This movie is about the Griswald family and their effort to have the perfect Christmas. The movie starts out with a road trip to find the perfect Christmas tree for the living room. But imagine the surprise when they find the tree is bigger than the whole room. Things only get worse when the family starts to visit. They range from senile grandparents to eccentric cousins.

Sorry to make this one so short but I don't want to spoil any more of it in case you want to see it. If I say too much, it might not be as funny. So I'll end it here. Make sure you see this one and I'll see you next time. ;)

Holiday Film Extravaganza #3: The Year Without a Santa Clause

cover

Here's another holiday gem that everyone should see. In this movie, the world is in an uproar when Santa Clause decides to take the year off. Its like nothing anyone has ever seen before. Children just don't seem to believe anymore. It is then up to two elves named Jingle and Jangle to head to the Southern United States in search of people who still believe. It turns out the only way to get people to believe again is to have it snow in this little town. And the only way to do that is to get the support of Snow Miser. Mrs. Clause and the elves then pay him a visit. Now its time for one of my favorite Christmas songs.

So Snow Miser says that the only way he can make it snow is if his brother, Heat Miser says its okay since the town is in his territory. They go to him next and here comes the other half of one of my favorite Christmas songs.

After some more events, the Miser brothers come to the agreement to let it snow. This causes awave of holiday spirit to overcome this town. When the children learn how tired and stressed Santa is, they all pitch in to give him a holiday of his own and give him presents for a change. Santa Clause couldn't be happier with this Christmas spirit and that's when he knows he has to deliver the presents for all of them.

In short, see this movie. Its actually on tonight on ABC Family if you get that channel. 9:00PM on the East coast. Enjoy the show and happy holidays :)

Holiday Film Extravaganza #2- Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town

cover

This one here is a keeper. In the second installment of the extravaganza, lets look back at the history of Santa Clause. This movie tells the story of how Santa came to be. It all started when a baby was found by the Kringles, a family of elves who are also toy makers. The baby named Chris learned how to make toys from his elf family. When Chris grows up, his family reveals to him that he is not their actual child. Chris sets out to travel the world delivering the Kringles toys. Along the way he comes across a small town that is forbidden to have any kind of toys. In this town Chris meets the future Mrs. Clause. So Chris starts to give toys to the children in this town which makes him public enemy number 1. Chris must then change his name to.....Santa Clause and gets married to.

That's all I'll spoil for you. This is something you've got to see this time of the year. Hope you enjoyed the little preview. :)

Gamer Shark Mini Review: Super Mario 3D Land

gsr

For all of the 3DS owners, new games have been hard to come by. So the question now is whether or not the dry spell has ended with the release of this game and the upcoming Mario Kart. That all depends on just how much fun you can have with Super Mario 3D Land.

I'll start with the story. As usual, the princess gets kidnapped by Bowser and its up to that plumber guy to save her. He must fight his way through dozens of intricate worlds each containing their own fun s tyle. Later on in the game, Luigi becomes available to play as. He's no different than Mario but its a nice change of pace.

Mario is very easy to control via the circle pad. With a 3D environment it's a must to have full mobility to make it through each world. Look for several extras placed throughout the world like mystery boxes that can provide special rewards like powerups and star coins. Speaking of powerups, they are prominent in this game. The Tanooki suit makes its triumphant return and it couldn't be more useful. Another perk of this suit is that if you have trouble with certain levels, a special invulnerability suit appears to help you. My favorite powerup is the boomerang suit which lets you throw a boomerang at enemies just like the boomerang koopa troopas.

FINAL BITE- The Nintendo 3DS finally has the big hit its been waiting for. Super Mario 3D Land is an amazing handheld game that any 3DS owner would love to own.

Gamer Shark Score- 9/10

Holiday Film Extravaganza #1: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

rudolph

Lets kick this season off right. Who could go wrong with perhaps the most well known holiday character around. This movie tells the story of a young reindeer who is training to one day lead Santa's sleigh. However, there is a slight problem. He has a rather shiny nose. "And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games." So Rudolph decides to run away and start a new life. Along the way he meets an elf named Hermey who dreams of being a dentist and a miner named Yukon Cornelius. Together these three must live on their own and avoid the Abominable Snow Monster. Later on in the film, Rudolph learns that his friends and family have been taken by the monster while they were out looking for him. Rudolph knows he must return to save them and with his new friends, they defeat the snow monster thus saving Rudolphs family. But not all is well because the storm outside is going to make it difficult for Santa to deliver the presents to the world. Christmas is about to be canceled until Santa realizes how bright Rudolph's nose really is. With Rudolph leading the sleigh, Santa has enough light to make it around the world. Christmas is saved and its all thanks to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

So in a nutshell, this is one of those light-hearted movies that the whole family can get behind. And lets face it, who wouldn't want to watch this every holiday season. What I'm trying to say is that if you haven't seen it, then see it, and if you have seen it, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and I hope you all have the best day with family and friends.

Holiday Film Extravaganza...Yay

Its almost that time of the year again. That time of year when everything is just so awesome and fun. The time of year where its pretty much impossible to from. Its the holidays and its starts in exactly one week. It'll all start with the Macy's parade and it'll be over when I can't eat any more. Then the holidays officially take off. When your family starts to get in the mood for which ever holiday you celebrate. So I thought I'd do something a little different. How about a blog detailing a different c lassic holiday movie each week up until January 2 starting Thanksgiving Day. I just thought I love this season so much that I should do something special for it. So what do you think. If you like the idea, any movies you reccomend me talking about?

Need Some Opinions

Even thought I was sure I'd be getting Batman Arkham City as my next purchase, I'm starting to doubt myself. And how could I not with all of these new games that are out or coming out. So which one do you think I should buy?

1. Batman Arkham City

2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

3. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

4. Super Mario 3D Land

5. Madden NFL 12

Watcha Think

Happy Veterans Day

Hello to everyone! Today is 11/11/11 and what a coincidence that Veterans Day would fall here. I'll take this time to wish everyone a great day and say thank you to all of the troops who have been fighting for our freedom. It is because of them that we have the safety that we have in America. I hope they all get home safely.
