I'll admit to being a bit of a graphics whore that's why I play on PC but RPG's always get a pass from me as long as they look 'okay' and the gameplay delivers. It's my favourite genre.

So I'll keep hoping Avowed delivers in gameplay, it's from a studio with a great heritage. Hardwenzen isn't the faintest bit interested in gameplay he posts a thread literally all about the graphics that says pretty much all you need to know about him. lol @ the Elden Ring obsession too, good gameplay, average graphics, no story or character exposition whatsoever (unless you watch YT videos from people who have scrutinised every item in the game in the hope of finding out wtf' you play it 'just because'.

So yeah I'm one of those people who is hoping the game will be really good instead of just shitting all over it because of some immature puerile agenda.

This is the man who saw the initial release of Halo Infinite and saw nothing wrong with it while the rest of the world fell over laughing at it, couldn't understand why people had a problem with 30fps in videogames and failed so abysmally to bring must have games to Xbox that Sony were quite literally out of sight before PS5 even released and then of course it got worse.

Gamepass is great for gamers, a total disaster for MS and games developers. Pennies from gamers instead of pounds, cents instead of lots of dollars etc. Putting Xbox games on PC meant no reason at all for PC gamers to own an Xbox console. No exclusives worth giving a shit about outside of PS meant nobody but MS shills care the console even exists.

They had to buy friggin Activision to stand any chance at all of competing with Sony.

Should MS keep him? They should f*cking sue him. Then again, the multitude of plebs at Microsoft who you have to conclude had no idea at all that he was running the Xbox brand into the ground kind of tells you they should stick to operating systems.

No thanks. DOS 2.5 with a BG skin. They've now made exactly the same game three times. It goes without saying if you're a big fan of the Divinity Original Sin games you'll love this too (they're all the same).

If you're a Baldur's Gate fan you'll wonder WTF you're playing. It might turn out to be a good/great game but it won't even faintly resemble a Baldur's Gate game. Absolutely the worst dev they could have given this license to.

Okay Series X can't handle the scope of Starfield at 60fps in 4K. So what do Bethesda do? Well according to Todd their vision for the game can't be compromised so locked 30fps is what you will get. I won't argue with that considering what the game sets out to do.

Why not 1440p 60 fps as a compromise? Because the GPU in the Series X is not the problem, it's the CPU. It can't keep up with the multitude of possibilities the player has access to in a game this size that gives the player freedom to interact with literally everything.

Digital Foundry have defended this by saying locked 30fps is better than unlocked frame rate 'up to' 60fps and while this is true it's still a wake up call that Series X and PS5 will run into this problem time and time again before this gen is over, both for the same reason.

Starfield is one of the reasons I'm glad I dropped consoles completely and play exclusively on PC now. I just hope it isn't the painfully predictable buggy mess every other Bethesda game has been at launch. Even that wouldn't be a total disaster though, I'll just wait till modders take a shot at it and do their job for them like they have always done.

It looks similar to Bioshock Infinite which is okay with me. It's not an immersive sim it doesn't simulate anything it's all fantasy.

Ghost would probably get 'immersed' by Mario jumping up and down like an idiot.

Content of the game doesn't matter. They have the same art style.

It's not even vaguely similar. Detailed characters and great looking environments. I've played Raid it looks like shite on a stick. If Avowed is similar to anything it's something like Outer Worlds.
