It's one of those believe it when you see it things. Valve pushed the limit with 99 achievements for the Orange Box. MS are turds when it comes to achievement restrictions. They didn't even have a uniform system in place when the console launched, so that's why we have games like LotR:BfME2 (705 pts), Condemned (970 pts) and The Godfather (originally 835).
If you have a working Xbox that you're not worried about failing, there's no reason for you to buy an Elite. Just buy the 120 gig hard drive and voila! Your Xbox is the equivalent of the Elite, and you saved money in the process.VMan
Unless you'd like the HDMI port as well. I took advantage of amazon.com's sale and bought an Elite with GTA4 and a $75 gift card. That sale might still be going on. Anyhow, have fun waiting for the Data Migration cable. Weeks later, mine still has not arrived. I couldn't order the cable until I had the Elite's serial numbers and when I called, they informed me it took nearly a week just to process the order, never mind waiting the 2-3 weeks for the cable. Wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't have a friend waiting to buy my "old" 360.
I'll be disappointed if it has anything to do with the recent movie, which was a disappointment itself. If it's separate and has the same effort as was applied to Blood Money, then this game will get a pre-order from me.
Currently, I think there's little question that COD4 is top tier. Will that stand up over time? Unlikely. COD5 is going to have co-op features, so imagine what COD6 will be like back in Infinity Ward's hands. Okay, so that's a while off yet, but... COD4 can be used as a standard by which all other games can be measured.
