OP has a very valid point. This game is a free-to-play, pay-to-win model. Sure you can depend on drops of about 1% chance (from what I read) to get the heroes you actually want to play, but seriously, they KNOW that people will pay right off the bat to play as someone other than the starting (free) characters.

Characters range in price from 6 bucks (Thing, Storm, Black Widow, Daredevil) to 20 bucks (Spidey, Ironman, Deadpool) and costumes range from $4.50 to 20.00. Total ripoff. And their current offering of an "ultimate" package at $250.00 is just absurd. 

This game will fail b/c they have stripped out anything that players would actually want from day one and made it either low-percentage drop, or you have to pay for it.
