Movie Review- Frozen

by on

Have been meaning to do a Movie review on this a few weeks ago, recently saw this film with a few friends before Christmas and I can easily say that I've enjoyed this movie a lot more than The Hobbit if I'm honest with most people on Gamespot.

Frozen

UK Release- December 6th 2013

US Release- November 27th 2013

Mins- 108 Minutes

I used to watch a lot of Disney films when I was younger either at the Cinema or on VHS back in the 90's, it was just after 2000 where most Disney films have started going downhill, I know that Pixar is a part of Disney but that is a completed different studio and company to them. I mean the last Disney film I've really enjoyed was Wreck-It Ralph which was released a year ago but that film was nothing but Video Game references which a lot of people would get most of the jokes which I would agree on that part. But when it came to watching Frozen I first thought it was not going to be a great film but I was completed wrong on that part after watching it and plus most of my friends I know couldn't stop talking about Frozen.

A young princess named Anna (Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven to find her older sister Elsa (Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom and help Elsa that there's nothing to fear. Even the story plot has a few good comedy and musical moments but the really plot starts to kick in even later in the film and find out what's really going on. Even the animated short film before the start of Frozen Disney throws in a mini-cartoon called "Get a Horse!" which feels more of a classic 1928's cartoon but the animation is still impressive to look at from the blast to the past and does try focusing on the 3D effects making the characters including Mickey Mouse come out of the screen it’s a lot more clever to watch if you have seen it or haven't seen this in 3D yet.

Most of the musical numbers in Frozen are really catchy to listen too not just that the last time I've enjoyed most Disney movies was during the Disney Renaissance era or even before then. Like I've just said I was really surprised how good Frozen was when it comes animated from Disney most people I know have said that this has been the best Disney film since Lion King, but then again most people have different opinions on what their favourite Disney is during their childhood. I do wonder what Disney will do next in the future can they really pull of a good animated film like they have done with Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen?

4/5 (4 stars)

Hope you've enjoyed reading my review :D

Really have to see this movie. It will probably have to wait until DVD with all these other movies out right now. Looks like a fun movie. I'm really happy to see Disney making good animated movies again, they've been slipping lately.

I only saw the last 45 minutes of this after I snuck into it after watching the garbage movie anchorman 2. (I deserved to treat my self to something watchable after that)It was a fun film from what I saw but movie tickets these days are expensive as all hell.

@Spazzh20 Really? I haven't seen Anchorman 2 yet because I loved the first Anchorman for the jokes and referances
