Liggts 1 and 4 alternate with 2 and 3 on my controller
Battery life ia atill at 50 percent though
Is the gauge inaccurate? Should i recharge at that sign? Only recharge until the juice is totally gone?
Can't believe I'm actually in here.
Owned an Xbox last gen, hated the hardware issues with mine (yes, yes I know the PS2 had more issues). Got a PS3 on launch day and while it did last 5 years, didn't appreciate it dying out on me all of a sudden. Back into gaming with a brand new Xbox360 now! (the irony is that I avoided the Xbox360 for hardware issues and lo and behold, that's how my PS3 dies)
Anyway, I'm brand new and was wondering what tips you guys have to get started.
- I do have an HDMI cable from my last system and I know the new Xbox units come with built in wifi.
- I know I should pick up rechargable batteries or a plug and charge kit for the controller.
- I know to keep the console unit at the top of the component stack, to keep it cool, and to regularly clean out with compressed air (perhaps lack of care is why my PS3 conked out)
- I know I will have to purchase Xbox Live Gold for online play
- I know there's an option to install games to the HDD for the Xbox360 for smoother play. (I'm perhaps not the truest enthusiast gamer. Really purchased the system for BO2 zombies play and NBA 2k series offline/online play)
Anything else I need to know to get started?
Thanks, can't wait to get started here :)
Wait so what is the actual answer?
I am looking into getting a new Xbox360 (current PS3 owner) and was initially deterred earlier on (we are talking nearly 4 years ago now) from buying an Xbox360 because of the RROD.
And where would you guys recommend picking one up? A lot of my friends have been noticing good deals online. I was thinking more along the lines of a Costco where the longer ability to return might be a good idea if hardware issues are still around?
Thanks for the help.
ps3 then 360 then wiirahul_rul210well said although the wii is a ton of fun, i have to say it isn't as fun FOR ME 360 is really lagging in terms of recent releases over the past 6 months
very accurate, they haven't released anything new in a while plus the hardware problems are still present sadSo it looks to me that MS has basically given up on 2009 and is focusing on 2010 from their E3 showing. Only grand exclusives this year look to be Halo ODST, SC and Crackdown. While next yearthey have got Alan Wake, ME2, Halo Reach, MGS Raiden and possibly Natal.
So it looks like it will be between Sony and Nintendo, which I think will be close. Either way though, I think 2009 will be the worst year for gaming in this generation, considering the quality of 2006-2008 was absolutely stellar. MW2 is the only game that looks incredible to me, while the Wii motion plus looks great if it is as responsive as they say. Time will tell.

Then why did you buy it?
Gift.
RROD, freezing, disc reading errors, and disc scratching. I now only purchase exclusives for the 360 and go for the PS3 version of multiplats (even though I'll be the first to admit multiplats can often play better on the 360)
But that means little if my system isn't running. Or worse, damages my disc in the process of crashing.
