@mondoben: Thanks for your reply - I suspected it was more of a technical issue rather than just a change for change's sake. Tough audience though. :)

I worked for Blackberry for 5 years. The old Blackberry O/S was like a Model T that had new carbs, new valves, pistons etc. BUT was still a model T. There's only so much you can do to upgrade, but comes a point where you have to start fresh. They had to build Blackberry 10 because the old O/S wasn't cut out for the requirements of today's devices...
Which brings me to Gamespot - I loved the old site too. So other than wanting a fresher look - what was the root problem that necessitated this change?
I read somewhere that the old site was hard to maintain? Was that it? or was there more to it?
I was also a long time Gamespot user. This change has ruined so many areas of the website that it is unusable now. There are so many broken areas, missing functionality, poor designs, and bugs... It's a real trainwreck...
Gamespot is making the same kind of grevious error that Coke made with the New coke vs the original coke debacle.
They've changed the product for the sake of 'change' only - it's an unwanted, and unnecessary change to a product people loved.
Hate it.
I used Gamespot to manage my game collection of over 200 games. The new site has converted 'games I own' into 'stacks'. Unordered stacks.
The 'games I own' are now a random ordered list that uses a manual method to sort the games - I can't sort by name, or by rating, or by type. I can't see at a glance the score of the game either...
I really relied on the games I own feature of the old gamespot to manage my games... and if it is not fixed I will leave...
