lmao, you obviously havent been paying attention to Sony's business tactics; they arent that kind and giving you know, if its true then they'll simply release the new controllers and most likely at a higher price than the regular sixaxis ones

I don't understand why people who live in the U.K or Europe compare their prices to the U.S. You don't live here, you live in Europe. You don't earn money here, you earn money over there. You pay more for any product over there, why is the PS3 any different?

Ok, so correct me if Im wrong:

Sony is phasing out the 60GB PS3 in the west because it is more costly to produce in favour of the cheaper to produce 80GB unit (which they are selling for the original price of the 60GB unit), the 60GB PS3 is more costly to produce because it uses dedicated hardware (which allows for emulation of all PS1 & PS2 games)for emulation as opposed to the 80GB SKU that uses software (which requires updates to lengthen the short list of playable games); PAL consumers were presented with 60GB units which used software for emulation from the very beginning and were charged more for them; and now that Sony has reduced the price of the 60GB unit in the west they are still charging PAL consumers the same price, which is more than the price for the new 80GB units which they wont be getting "in the forseeable future".

So in essence Sony is giving the PAL consumers lessand are charging them more... is it me or does it seem like they are getting seriously screwed?

Ok here is the thing; first state your country, then the common supermarket price of some common and cheap item for comparrison, and then list the current consoles (handhelds included) and their prices (retail prices not direct translations) beside them in your country's currency. I cant stress enough that this thread is not for debate or fanboyism so please leave that crap at the door.

X-BOX360 = $40 to $50 thousand

PSP = around $30 thousand

DS = around $18 thousand

WII = well I havent seen any yet but as its about the same as the initial price of the PSP I think its safe to say same as PSP

PS3 = ........ well I havent seen any price quotes for that as yet either but I would estimate $60 to $70 thousand
