The 30 days starts from the time you enter the registration code in to your account. Until then, it is essentially sitting on a store shelf. Feel free to take off as much time as you want.

It is strange you did not get a letter or email. I remember S-E sending me an email with a link to my S-E account login for the download. You may check there first. I'd double-check the email address you used to register the account, and have them resend the email just to be certain. If that doesn't solve your problem, I would contact customer support about the problem or download the beta client through a torrent. BTW, about the websites, Lodestone is the community site. It has server updates, player blogs, and the forums NA FFXIV site was used for promotion purposes for the game. It now redirects you to the Lodestone, where you can find links to purchase. Mog Station is the site for you to make an account and register your game's code after you buy it. There is also a S-E account page which connects all your S-E game accounts and which you access to change password, email, and other account information.

I believe there are time-card options. You may have to import them from Japan for now, but you can pay by the hour. There's a lot of demand for them in NA and EU, and S-E has announced they will be selling them in all regions sometime soon. So, just buy those when it comes out.

There is no specific skill that will allow a guaranteed dodge. Increasing your dex and using featherfoot are probably the best ways to increase your evade chance. The rest is just reflexes. As for changing forms, certain skill abilities will let change you to specific forms. The usual cycle is, Opo-opo -> Raptor -> Coeul -> Opo-opo ->etc. Because of that, you will be combo-ing your skills as a monk. If you are not reaching a specific form, that is because you are using a skill that resets your form to Opo-opo form. I'd pay closer attention to the skill description and take some time to work out your combo.

This sounds like something to take to S-E's technical support. Assuming you bought the game new and the registration code is unusued, you most likely registered the code incorrectly to another account. Your best bet is to contact technical support and have them fix the issue for you. It's not an uncommon problem. If you bought a used copy and the box was open when you got it, I'm sad to say but the code can only be registered once. Once registered, the code is not re-usable. I would attempt to contact the seller and get your money back. If you went through a service like Amazon, I would contact their customer support for a refund if the seller does not comply. Selling used mmos (where the code has already been used) is against their policy.

"hue hue" is an onomatopoeia for a retarded laugh. Coincidentally, it is also the equivalent of "haha" in the portugese language. You'll know which version it is depending on context.

That's called quest-gating and I don't think it is a major concern as far as tutorials go. As for the fact that they made a quest for something as trivial as unlocking dying though, it's honestly a little annoying. Pointless quests also just seem to be a staple for the mmo genre in general though. Some people have more tolerance for it than others. I suppose GW2 did a really good job in hiding its questing, although it essentially boiled down to the same thing after enough maps.

I will admit I came in to the game expecting many of these shortcomings. The game text, while mildly amusing at times, is far from stellar. The cut-scenes can be a little jarring, especially since we've become accustomed to voice for them, but it's not a game breaker for me. The quest-gating is not fun, but i can understand them wanting to put players through a tutorial for the game features. it's just something I put up with as a game friendly to new mmo players. Some classes are more interesting to play than others. Sad to say, but the Gladiator and its associated job, Paladin, are known for practicality than compelling gameplay. Marauder and Warrior are slightly more interesting than Paladin, but it essentially boils down to whether you have 5 stacks of wrath or not as a warrior. I think the most complicated class is Monk as it requires switching between various martial stances and switching your positioning between back and flank. Other classes don't compare in their resource management. Also, cross-class skills have been a disappointment. A lot of skills you could equip before were removed, so there's only a few choice utility skills available now. Although it can be a grind, I'd continue experimenting with the cross-class skills to see if there's any game changers, such as invigorate. I'd suggest you give warrior or monk a try before your trial runs out, but your concerns with the game so far are definitely true.

Sorry. To clarify, I assume you're playing the marauder class. This lets you use up to 10 cc abilities from any class. If you switch to the Warrior Job (party-centered, tanking specialization), you are restricted to cc abilities from marauder, gladiator, and pugilist only. At that point, I would suggest you follow countomally's advice and cycle through single targets with your single target enmity combo, with a periodic aoe when you can afford it or need it.
