[QUOTE="Toxic-Seahorse"][QUOTE="AdamK47"]

Did some upgrading for this year. Purchased an ASRock Extreme11 motherboard, 32GB of Ripjaws Z memory, Thermaltake Water 2.0 cooler, and six 512GB Vertex 4 SSDs.

Specs:
Intel Core i7 3960X @ 4.5GHz
ASRock Extreme11 @ 45 x 100MHz
32GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z @ 2133 DDR
Three HD7970s in Tri-Fire @ 1000/1500
256GB Vertex 4 SSD
Six 512GB Vertex 4 SSDs in RAID-0
4TB Deskstar 7K4000 HDD
Pioneer BDR-206 BD-RW
Cooler Master HAF-X case
Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme cooler
Corsair AX1200 power supply
Razer BlackWidow Ultimate keyboard
CST LaserTRAC 2545W trackball
DoubleSight DS-307W monitor
Shure SRH840 headphones

mrmarrero

Overkill much? I wish I had that much money to waste.

Just doing it quickly in my head, thats got to be right around $10K.

Actually on current prices its about 7-8k but still!

Hehe, I am used to my case fans being noisy at the start, until they are at a stable speed. Living with it for many years. :Pdramaybaz

I don't know what the new features will be in Windows 8 except for the GUI, but try looking through some ASUS laptops, by my experience they look very good and they are made of some quality hardware which won't burn up due to bad ventilation etc. And waiting for a new generation of proessors isn't really necessary if you are only gonna use it for business.

I am still in the process of building a computer , but i'd say the hardest thing was choosing the graphics card and the power supply D

I have the same exact problem, the noise gets extremely loud when i power up the PC and a after half a minute the the noise goes away, i opened the side panel once and powered up the computer and i pinpointed the fan that was making all the noise, it was the rear fan but of-course there is nothing i can do except replace it :) coz this PC is 6 and half years old .
