As always, I have to question exactly who GS has behind the scenes reviewing its games. Easy to get hung up in a LINEAR environment? Ugly? Come on now guys. Tsk tsk. A 3.5 is a rating for a game that's broken in some ... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
The core of the game is as strong as ever but everything surrounding it this time out is a bit lacking.
Basically, at its best, Unreal Tournament 3 is as good as the series has ever been; the weapon selection is good, the gameplay is solid and the graphics are pretty nice to look at. Where the game fails pretty hard in my ... Read Full Review2 of 2 users found the following review helpful
There's the groundwork for a great game here, they just forgot to put the walls up and slap a roof on it.
Well, springing off GS's own review here: This game is not a third person shooter so being overly critical of the shooting elements is a little silly. Bionic Commando's various firearms are basically there (and usual... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
If you know anything about the KUF series you should know that Circle of Doom is pretty much nothing like those games. Well, perhaps one thing: If you took the manual combat from the previous two KUF games and made a who... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
I must be doing something wrong because I managed to get through this game without experiencing anything which remotely resembled "broken" -- playing on the unpatched retail version, even. It's true that there are odd bu... Read Full Review1 of 1 users found the following review helpful
The similarities between this game and its predecessor pretty much stop at the door and with the massively-armored superhuman warriors and zany xenos -- its an entirely different bag. Some people seem to be eating it up ... Read Full Review6 of 6 users found the following review helpful
A 1.5? Come on now. You Are Empty is definitely not Half-Life and its certainly a little underwhelming but it actually RUNS and isn't without its redeeming factors. The gameplay is shallow, linear and not very difficu... Read Full Review4 of 4 users found the following review helpful
You know the story: you start with a "town hall" and some "citizens". You forage for materials, build some stuff, make an army and wander off to kill stuff. I'm not one to bash something simply because its derivative but... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
It's an "oldie" by now so I don't guess it really matters but I finally got around to playing it myself. I think its a well-accepted fact that Undying was a heck of a fun romp through spooksville so I was quite lookin... Read Full Review0 of 2 users found the following review helpful
Despite the odd subscription aspect and a few general shortcomings, Hellgate is a solid game with a lot of good ideas.
I remember when this game was first announced I was really excited: first-person shooter with RPG elements? Demons and gates to hell? Why yes please! That was how I remember it originally being portrayed. When talk star... Read Full Review1 of 1 users found the following review helpful
The near-future setting may not be as appealing to some as those in past installments but 2142 has it where it counts.
I've been playing about with the Battlefield series since the initial bricks were laid with the Wake Island demo for BF:1942. The game was fun back then and had some interesting new gameplay on the table but the successi... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
Pretty average overall, but solid. Manages to include some unique mechanics which at least make it interesting.
I'm going to toss this out as a quick review simply to say that I think developers could learn a bit from this game. It's ok to take chances and try new things, a handful of unique game mechanics (which actually work pre... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
Could have been so much more -- pretty graphics and on-line come at the cost of just about everything else.
Regardless of your feelings for the nuances of past Soul Caliburs -- how much better SC2 was than SC3, how much you hated Chronicles of the Sword, how much the extra weapon styles sucked -- you simply cannot excuse the h... Read Full Review3 of 8 users found the following review helpful
