I beat new vegas' main questline last night, it took 12 hours and the game only froze 2 times. People are complaining way to much about bugs in this game it is rather pathetic. The game is great and there are like 4 different endings just to the main questline so i am going to get another playthrough going as a int, luck, charisma character. I am going to try and finish a couple of side mission this time through as well. All in all it was a good game so far fallout 3 is better because of DLC but give it some time and new vegas should eclipse even fallout 3.
So after gamespot gave a 7.5 to fallout new vegas I dont think i can trust them anymore for review. I will still come for the forums and news but fallout new vegas was scored poorly. I understand there are bugs in the game but no game ships without bugs it doesnt happen. You can't say it is just like fallout 3 which got a 9 and game of the year and then score it a 7.5 it really makes no sense. Not only that they gave the PC version a 8.5 I dont care if it is on a different console or not if the PC got a 8.5 so should the console version. This has started a whole flame fest in the forums that is unjust half the people have not even played the game at all and are trashing it. I hit the strip last night and I am having a blast the missions are so much better than fallout 3. I am really looking forward to finishing the game and can't wait for DLC in the future. I guess i will be going with IGN, giantbomb.com, and G4 for my reviews from now on...
UPDATE: So i googled what the shield meant next to the health bars of enemies and i found this:
Another feature being added, is that if an enemy has a high damage threshold, some weapons may be ineffective. This is shown by a red shield near the enemy's health bar when attacking it, in and out of VATS. The damage threshold will be due to high armor or a built in mechanic to that character, and will require the Courier to retreat, or attack with a more powerful weapon.
This mechanic wasn't in fallout 3 which is why i didnt understand what was going on so i guess my weapon wasn't strong enough to hurt them but i killed the other 2 humans i really dont understand but at least i have some start to what i should be doing now.
Ok i understand after playing again last night the DAM of a weapon has to be more than the DT of a mob or else the damage will not basically do anything. The weapon i was using i guess wouldnt break through the mobs armor level thus the shield next to its health bar.
Also after a second play of 6 hours there was no major glitch or freeze this time around and i made it in the strip going to go talk to mr. house soon. :D
I pre-ordered fallout new vegas and picked it up the other day and so far I have played about 2 hours i would say. The games starting cinematic explains the current situation in new vegas fairly well. The S.P.E.C.I.A.L. mechanic of character development is still there as well as perks. You start out being patched up by a doctor in the start of the game and move on to doing basic tutorial missions that ease you into the game. Nothing to fancy so far.
The iron sights are well done in this game thankfully, i haven't had an issue with them as of yet. I am cruising along in the game a couple of missions in and havn't had any issues up until just now. I cleared my cache on my xbox 360, installed the game, and turned off the auto save feature before playing to try and get a smooth playthrough after hearing about the bugs and glitches in the game. I actually just had my first bug or whatever you may call it, I had just died and was reloading from my save point and directly after it loaded the game froze and i was forced to turn off my console and reboot it just to play again :(.
I am hoping that this will be my only problem, if it is game breaking then i may just set the game down til they get a patch up. You may be asking "why did he die" well that brings up another part i am confused about. It wasn't as if i was out numbered or something i was just strolling down a road and i came upon several rad scorpions. While in fallout 3 they were very easy to kill something about these guys just pwned my face. For one i was outnumbered about 4 to 1 but they had this shield symbol next to the health bar.
Now i may be wrong but i dont think the game ever told me what this symbol means. I started firing shot after shot and even went into VATS to try to single out a limb but nothing helped. They just pwned me and i died. I had the same issue with 2 guys hanging outside of a house that had the same symbol I was able to kill them but i am thinking there is something i am missing here or they just made new vegas WAY harder than fallout 3 because i never had 1 issue with difficulty with fallout 3 nor do i normally have any issues with any game in terms of difficulty. I am going to stop playing for the night and try again tomorrow hopefully my gametime is much smoother going tomorrow.
So I ran to gamestop today and I put my preorder in for medal of honor which comes out tomorrow as well as fallout new vegas. I cant wait to stomp through new vegas and see all the improvements over an already incredible game. I have still been thrashing halo reach if anyone wants to play sometime just add me ZzZEVOLUTIONZzZ is my gamertag. I usually play with people i know on live that have mics, I dont really care about skill level just be a good team mate :D
Just an update.
Been a bit busy lately but have been playing a lot of halo reach.
1000/1000 gamerscore and every avatar award.
I got to the rank cap of lt colonel rank 3 a couple of days ago so i am waiting til they release the new ranks.
I hit the credit cap for a single day as well XD totally was not expecting that to happen but it is 60,000 credits in a single day.

I have been gaming for quite some time now, ever since I could pick up a controller in fact. During my experiences with various gaming devices I began noticing a trend and have created a list of pet peeves if you will. While gaming on consoles, handhelds, phones, or even PCs, we all have come across thing that make us say I really dislike this in my video game. Here is a list of six of my personal video game pet peeves in no particular order.
Ah yes, elevators... Where to start with this one? I can see how elevators would some how enhance my overall immersion in a game and somehow make me feel like I was the character. But lets be honest here do we really want to break up our gaming experience just to sit in a box and watch our characters stare at a wall while they ascend or descend from an area? Nothing to do but punch the wall at this point. As if elevators were not boring enough in real life right? A great example of this is mass effect
"So did you guys watch the new episode of Glee?"
Quick time events
I recently played just cause 2 and whenever you try to hijack a vehicle from one of the government officers you have to start a quick time event. You have to match the button on screen with the button on your controller for those who are wondering exactly what a quick time event is. This is extremely frustrating while you are getting shot at from every direction and all that you want to do is get behind a 2 ton vehicle to shield you from gun shots. Instead you have to pace yourself and make sure you don't hit the wrong button and get killed. It is fine the first time but after the 50th time you have hijacked a vehicle it starts to get old. This happens more and more in video games now IE: god of war, bayonetta, just cause 2, darksiders.
"Alright, I am coming in and this time no funny business!"
So many times in co-op games I find myself screaming at my AI partners to kill something. A great example of this is gears of war 2. During the game most of the time you have 3 AI partners and they do not kill anything for the most part leaving you to do all of the dirty work. This is OK for the most part during a normal playthrough, but hike up the difficulty to insane and you will get thoroughly ticked off with your AI partners. It doesn't even have to be your partner in game to be a bad AI either. I have come across time and time again where the computer controlled players you are supposed to be killing are doing ridiculously stupid things. IE: Taking cover and the wrong side of a wall.
"Guys! There is a bloodmount over here! Guys? GUYS? GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!"
Yet again one of my favorite games is guilty of this one, Gears of war. Is it too much to ask nowadays for a blockbuster AAA hard hitting title that will sell millions of copies to have dedicated servers? While playing online you can't help but notice there is a big difference from game to game in the amount of lag that you get. Not only that but the host of the game is uber powerful and has no lag. So you could walk up behind them shoot them 2 times in the back just for them to flip around quickly and shoot you 1 time and down you from the same distance. At which point I find myself shouting, "HOST!!!!"
"I laugh at your feeble 25 mbps internet connection!"
In game advertising
I was playing splintercell conviction the other night and during one of the missions I couldn't help but notice a poster for a television show "the event" posted to a building. As if we don't get enough advertising jammed down our throat during the regular work or school day? It made me stop and look at the poster and think "Isn't that show a real life show?" This sort of thing totally ruins the immersion in the gaming world that I am supposed to be a part of.
"Free gamer pics on xbox live!? Oh, *cough*. I meant, tango down!"
Poor Controls and Lack of Customization
All games, in my opinion of course, in the year 2010 and beyond should have the option to customize your controller imputs. Why should I throw grenades with the left trigger why not with the B button? Why not melee with the left trigger and shoot with the right trigger? It grinds my gears whenever a game has an extremely poor controller layout and no option to change the layout AT ALL. Instead of leaping out of the way of a grenade by hitting the A button I am now picking up my friends kill that he downed. Then, using him as a meat shield because the game designers thought that the A button would be a great choice...
These are just some of the pet peeves of mine that I have been noticing recently more and more as a trend in video games. Whether or not game developers will ever notice that gamers really don't like this sort of thing in their games or not is yet to be seen. Hopefully they notice sooner rather than later. They can at times totally ruin your immersion in a video game, have you screaming at your television, or just have you leaning back in your chair waiting for your long elevator ride to be over with. What are some of your video game pet peeves?
Nah not really i love turtles :P
So I got my wii back again so now i have a wii and xbox 360. :D

What games are you most looking forward to?
I started cloning some starter pokemon last night and decided that i would start trying to breed some near perfect IV pokemon with desireable Natures. That being said I do not know how to do this YET. I have been browsing on smogon quite a bit here lately and found a couple of articles that have been made to help me. I am going to read through them tonight as well as catch my last 2 roaming pokemon entei and latios. Afterward I am going to begin my breeding project and as such i am sure that during the breeding process i will have several extra pokemon that i will start giving away on the NAS (nintendo all stars) forum board. So keep an eye out for my pokemon giveaway threads (which will most likely be coordinated with mario brawler). Just as a side note i now have every starter pokemon from every generation so if anyone is in need of starters leave me a comment on this blog post and i will try to get to you A.S.A.P.
