Yeah, a program. It just seems like a natural extension of the whole keeping connected philosophy.

I'd like to know what my friends are playing, who is on, send them messages, etc. All without having to use a website, some kind of small application would be nice. Are there any sorts of apps like that or no?

Then I lose out on surround sound, I think I'm just going to live with the flickering, it hasn't been game breaking in anything but crystal defenders yet so I'm not terribly upset, just annoyed. After christmas I'll look into buying a new component switch, or maybe I'll see if my fiance wants to get me an extra christmas gift, lol.

or just plug it directly into the tv whenever you play? lol its not THAT much work to switch a couple cables

It's a pretty tight fit actually, all the cables for the TV, Component Switch, DVD player, 360, Wii, PS3 are all crammed in one tower to the right of my TV and some cables are just the right length to make their connections nicely so moving parts around to disconnect one part to hook up another is quite a chore cause I can't really see what I'm doing, it's not ideal. Also the TV it self is huge, it weighs a fair deal and I have a bad back so it's not easy for me to move, it's not a nice new flat screen, it's an older rear projector.

I'm glad I only paid 30 bucks for it, sure I didn't get a remote but at least now I don't care so much about it not working as great as it seemed. It's weird that it doesn't freak out with the Wii or 360 on broight things... You know, there are 4 inputs, I wont if input 2 is just bad or something, I'm gonna try switching it to one of the functional inputs that the 360 or wii are using and see if it works. I still have input 4 to use if that turns out to be the case.

Also, something weird I never noticed before. If I go to crystal defenders and leave it sit for a second it starts to flicker, however if I let it sit for a while like when I was re attatching all of my cables and it goes dim it stopped flickering. It seems to be to do with bright white colors, it happens when there is a flash of whit in infamous before a good/evil moment, Uncharted 1 when you get al low on health, and the bright whit background of the crystal defenders.

For the Wii and 360 I'm just using the component cables that are made by their respective compaies, nothing snazy. Same with the PS3.

Here is the component switch I have I do believe: http://www.psyclonegamer.com/products/index.asp?brandtype=competition&id=1128

Yeah, it's the component switch, I plugged it directly into the AV reciever and it works fine. If only I knew what was triggering the component switch to react like that though I'd disable it on the PS3. I've tried keeping the Res and 720p, no dice. Disable pure white, disable the full color spectrum and made it limited, I just don't know anything else that would be making it freak out.

I'll try pullin' the cables out and reinserting them, I haven't done that. It used to work on that TV fine, the only thing different now is that there is a component switch between it and the TV, but my 360 and Wii have no problems so I just don't think it's the switch, may be wrong though.
