Stopped by 2nd and Charles again and got some pretty awesome things. First thing I picked up was a Sega Game Gear. Only one in the whole store for $50. Works like a charm. Now I can finally play my Sonic Game Gear games. I also picked up Garfield: Caught in the Act for Game Gear for $1. It's... ok in some instances but Catsablanca Stage 1 was annoying. If you messed up a jump, you were sent flying back to the last checkpoint. Took about almost 7 minutes to get past the stupid level. And then of course the TV Wasteland levels were just horrendous. See, back in the early '90s, we had the Genesis version of Caught in the Act which is an amazing game. and in the version, if you got hit during the TV sections (traversing from one level to the next), you just lost health. On the Game Gear version, you get hit once, ONCE, you have to start all over. That is SO annoying. I got to the final boss and couldn't figure out the pattern to reflect his projectiles back at him so I just sorta gave up. There's not even a video or walkthrough to show me what to do. I can always use a password to go back and try again but good grief that game is a mess. Lastly, I picked up ToeJam and Earl for the Sega Genesis. Near-mint condition for $20. The manual is missing and so is the tab on the top of the box but that's minor stuff. I played TJ&E for a long time so I know what's what. If they still have that Sega Genesis up there, I'll try to get it next time. Might see about shopping there for games from now on. You never know what you might find there.
