I recently recieved a Dell Inspiron 1520; and since I took it out of the box its been nothing but a pain in the rear. The common issue I have is that every 5 minutes or so, I get a total lockup which results in games, applications, whatever, freezing for an indefinate period of time. Music that I am listening to will have a total PAUSE for about 30secs to 5 mins before it resumes playing. Interestingly, when I was playing STALKER:SoC, during all of the lockups/freezes, when the game's sound went dead, I could hear a DEET, DEET noise, which was not from any program, rather an internal noise in the computer that I could hear on the headphones. Don't get me wrong the hardware it has is pretty good; 4GB Ram 160GB HDD Core2 Duo T7300 Processor NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT 256mb Vista 32Bit. It runs games graphically perfect; but then the crashes start occuring and makes everything from STALKER to Notepad unusable. Below is a screenshot of the problem in 'action' so to speak. Note the all too famous greyed out screens Vista provides. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c78/taako/VistaCrashnumber4760234623867892347.jpg I have no idea what is causing the problem, and after searching the net I found that alot of other people were having the same problem. Just wondering if anyone here has managed to overcome it, or should I just junk this piece of S*^t and get XP. I've sent Emails to dell with no response, called their supposedly award winning support line and been put in queues and had troubleshooting tips recited to me from the same useless manuals they shipped to me.

Halo 3 obviously, ditto to the hype ideology. I'm not really waiting for Halo 3 at all but i have to admit I've been waiting for a game with a strong, united community to be released (yeah GoW is good but 8 player limit.. bit constricted in my view).

I've made about two evil characters, and one heroic one. I decided to download nights of the nine just to play the good side of things for a bit and it was totally worth it. But once I'd finished it, I got the Vile Lair DLC. Kinda created a real sense of the fallen hero :) I'd reccomend KOTN. Such a simple addition makes Oblivion so much more versatile.

Basically I was playing Oblivion, and the 360 crashed. It's happened before, no worries, so i turned it off and then back on again. Problem is, the dashboard doesn't load. So what I'm left with is the blue screen of my television's AV input and an Xbox 360 that is running, but has flashing red lights. I've checked all the cables, tried starting the console up with different games etc etc., to no avail. Maybe it's time I put the extended warranty into use? Just curious; has this happened to anyone before and did you resolve it? Thanks.
