I feel ripped off by Wii U slightly.

No Devil's Third. Delayed Star Fox. Lack of third party. So many rehashes in the Eshop unlike the regular Wii shop last gen and it seems like it's over before anything actually got good on it. So yeah, I feel a bit sad about it. Good part is, the Wii U was fully BC with Wii games. So....

@XboxStache: I'd say Doom(if done correctly) has the best chance of being the best FPS, and I am also looking forward to Rainbow Six, what's your impression of that beta? I've heard good things.

I can't wait for Doom.

As far as my impressions of Rainbow six goes, I liked the destructive physics (reminds me of a more tactical bad company), limited snap on ADS was fine, TTK could be balanced a bit more in my opinion, but it's not out yet, so anything can happen. Liked the old school feel of it. Graphics were meh. Terrorist Hunt mode and Mission style game modes without friendly AI? Huge letdown. I'd like to be able to play a rainbow six that's similar to the older ones in the sense of tactical squad commands...but I suppose matchmaking takes care of that. Guess I can't complain too much until I actually play the full game. With that said, it's not a game I'm highly anticipated about at the moment. The skill gap required for it is very promising however! :)

Hardly.

In terms of single-player, Wolfenstein the New Order is vastly superior. It's the very definition of a top FPS: top gunplay, top level designs, and top graphics. The plot and the flow of the game are also stellar, as opposed to most CoD games where it's just 100% intense battle time.

In terms of multiplayer, Overwatch is poised to be the hottest FPS this gen, and it may be the only FPS in the foreseeable future that may stand a remote chance against the gargantuan CS:GO. Halo 5 MP, like other console FPS MP, will be forgotten in time.

Oh stop it!

@XboxStache: Wait for the honeymoon period to wear off.

I saw posts like this the same week of Halo 4 and look how the community dropped off radically.

Best we revisit this topic in Jan 2016 and see how things are then once we've had time to digest what we have here.

You make a good point.

Only thing is, Halo 4's multiplayer was unbalanced garbage, and that was my opinion of it the entire time. Halo 4 added nothing new except graphics and Spartan ops. Time to kill was ping variable or level based (which sucks), the control was pseudo-Reach but not as smooth, and it just wasn't a good game. Halo 4 made the mistake of having Spartan Ops with no matchmaking...it just boggles the mind to know how stupid 343 was with Halo 4.

Halo 5's much different. The multiplayer is an experience in which I feel innovates the FPS-multiplayer genre. It's so balanced and loaded with tweaks, new ways to kill and then there's Warzone...it's literally something you have to play to understand.

2016 will be Sony domination; period. Uncharted 4, Nioh, Attack on Titan, SFV, E3's going to be epic, we my get our first glimpse or teaser of TLOU2, Gran turismo beta incoming, the Paris game show was all Sony.

Whatever! You piss me off as bad as the Launch of Halo 5.

So, I'm not allowed to admit I was wrong? I was wrong. I admit, when it launched, I was a bit on the angry side, but not after I played it. Still doesn't mean Microsoft's going to deliver exclusive experiences on par with Halo 5 as Tomb Raider, I'll predict now, will end up on my shelf collecting dust as I prepare for Uncharted 4.

@XboxStache: I'm planning on getting it soon, haven't played the beta though. I have played the Star wars and Blops3 betas. Are you a fan of those games(betas)? Is Halo 5's multiplayer just better, or is it better compared to underperforming competition?

I enjoyed both of them.

No. It's just better than them both in terms of how you play it, balancing (such as TTK, weapons, teams, pace, speed etc), graphics (the 60fps is smooth and detail whilst not as good as the campaign, is good), the sound design is excellent, weapons like the BR's, magnum, assault rifle and everything just has a crisp new bang to them that feels meaty and satisfying. (remember, Halo 4 actually revamped the sound design and made it better, Halo 5 completely takes it beyond), the aiming is better, melee is better, you have boosts, req packs, req levels, the maps are big, but it doesn't feel like you're struggling to find enemies. It just feels so much better than any other multiplayer game including Titanfall (which is saying a lot as I absolutely love Titanfall).

I actually liked SWBF and Blops 3. I thought SWBF was really good, but more of the same in say Battlefield with some minor tweaks, I felt Blops 3 was a definite step up for COD in terms of multiplayer. But Halo 5 just takes the cake. And the multiplayer still has more to come...
