Slim is in the house

Just got that little marvel you see on the picture today. Traded in my old fat PS3 at GameStop + 2 Dark Sector & Unreal Tournament 3 both which I bought new for like 5 bucks each so its a win/win and in return I got the Slim. So far I have to say me like. Love how its way more robust than the old one which looked like it would break if you touched it. Also nice with the extra 40 GB's which will most definitly be put to good use.

Anyway I got the flu so im out and well hopefully its just the regular flu. :P

Midnight Club: Los Angeles
Virtua Fighter 5
Ratchet And Clank: Tools Of Destruction
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin

Oh I'm probably never gonna complete Far Cry 2 that games bores me to death. Which kinda sucks since I loved the first one.

Left Mass 4 Dead Effect

bought Left 4 Dead and Mass Effect for my 360 today now Mass Effect I didn't really want this when it came out but I changed my mind and really wanted to play just couldn't find it cheap anywhere until today.

Killlzone 2 !!

Is short.

Took me 5 hours and 49 minutes to get through the singleplayer well atleast according to the ingame singleplayer statistics. Pretty good game though on my second playthrough and this time im not gonna take my time. Well I guess there's always multiplayer.

And the first game of 2009 goes to..

..Dead Space

Just bought it at half price and its awesome even though im just on the first chapter and wow the sound effects are epic. Conclusion this game is awesome.

2008 Is a done deal, whats next?

So 2008 is over and a what a great gaming year it was. So I wanted
to count the number of games I bought or played in 08 and what I want in 09
so here goes. Get random.

Rainbow Six Vegas (360)
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (360)
Virtua Fighter 5 (360)
Grand Theft Auto IV (360)
Battlefield: Bad Company (360)
Bionic Commando Rearmed (XBL Arcade)
Soul Calibur 4
Mercenaries 2: World In Flames (360)
Saints Row 2 (360)
Far Cry 2 (360)
Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows (360)
Fallout 3 (360)
Gears Of War 2 (360)

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots (PS3)
Resistance: Fall Of Man (PS3)
Resistance 2 (PS3)
Ratchet And Clank: Tools Of Destruction (PS3)
Call Of Duty: World At War (PS3)
NBA: Homecourt (PS3)
Midnight Club: Los Angeles (PS3)
Unreal Tournament (PS3)
Dark Sector (PS3)

Now the games I had the most fun with out of those I've played this has definatly got to be Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Saints Row 2. Vegas 2 is just extremly fun online when you play with your friends. Terrorist Hunt, Team Deathmatch etc..tons of fun where had playing that game. Same with GTA 4 which had a good singleplayer and multiplayer which was fun on occasions. Now Saints Row 2 was everything GTA 4 was not. The wackyness was back and over all it felt like an immense improvement from the first even though the graphics still where kinda meh the game itself was extremly fun and take note GTA lots of customization = TONS OF FUN..so get back on that San Andreas ish.

Most suprising game for me this year though was Gears 2, yeah I know its not that different from the first, personally I hated the first because it was so damn gray
ish just made me depressed each time I played it lol. But Gears 2 man I love it also it feels more smooth than the first I dunno but I loved the fact that they
added bots (developers take notes) because I love me some playing against bots and about zero games these days have them. Also horde mode is awesome. And the campaign BAD A** give moar.

Most dissapointing game well hello Far Cry 2, yes I didn't like you that much. Travelling between missions completly ruined that game for me. When you first get down to action its awesome but its not worth having to travel 10 minutes in game for it, boring.

Most familiar game this year well Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows is bascially a next gen version of Spider-Man 2 & 3 without the ballon snatching and a different story than from the movies.

And movie of the year goes to Metal Gear Solid 4: GotP. Nah great game when you actually get to play, 12 hours of cutscenes 6 hours of gameplay but awesome non the less. I've played every MGS game since the on Playstation and this was most definatly the one with most cutscenes. Don't get me wrong I love me some bad ass cutscenes like the MGS series provide but lol some of the cutscenes in this game are as pointless at is can get. I mean did they really have to use about 15 minutes in combined cutscene time on Sunny cooking f***ing eggs lol. But I get Kojima trying to wanting to close Solid Snakes story even though I want Snake to contiune for ten more games
cause Snake is just that awesome " Snake? Snake?!! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!". But here is to the next MGS gaming being more balanced with gameplay and cutscenes about clocking in atleast the same amount of time ey?

Now 2009, yes im talking to you b**ch. Alot of great sounding games coming out this year.

Killzone 2 (anyone besides me that loved the first one?)
Uncharted 2 (Natan Drake is back mahf*cka)
GTA 4 DLC (can't wait personally)
Halo Wars (meh)
Tekken 6 (hell yes)
Street Fighter IV (never played a Street Fighter game yes shame on me but I like fighters so well its a first time for everything I guess)
World In Conflict: Soviet Assault (expansion pack time yay :D)
Prototype (Bad a**, no can I please be allowed to use regular weapons even though we get to have epic superpowers? pleeeeease?)
God Of War 3 (why not)
Mafia 2 (looks awesome, nuff said)
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (loved the first one, can't wait)
Resident Evil 5 (time to kill zeh zombies)
Afro Samurai (the tv serie was bad ass hopefully the game will be aswell)

PS3 Interface/Online Vs. 360 Interface/Online

During this last month or so I have been playing extensively on my PS3. Mostly due to the reason that my 360 RRoD'ed (Second time btw yay me). Anyway during this time I have started to notice a lot of quality differences between the 360 and the PS3, such as why I now see that those 50 dollars (well its more like 100 dollars in my Country but still) I pay for live every year is worth every got damn cent. But onwards with the point of this well slowly I started to notice some differences when I switched over to my PS3, things that I had grown accustomed to expect on my 360 were nowhere to be found on the PS3.

Now these things can aviate from very small and unimportant things like that the 360 remembers where you are in a movie/video file that you're playing from an external hard drive and everywhere else for that matter whereas the PS3 only seem to keep a record of where you are in a video on video files only stored on the PS3 itself. Again this doesn't matter really, it's just me nitpicking.

But the more important things I noticed to me that is was how you really can't play music over any games from the XMB menu in the PS3 but on the 360 I have had the availability to do this since the moment I got it 2 years ago. Again not an important thing to everybody but it is if enjoy to listen to your music over a video game when you play games like say me and like to have the possibility to do so right from the get go.

Anyway what I like to talk more about is how the chat system on the ps3 is far inferior to that of the 360, where you only can chat with people that are in the same game as you or none of you are in a game at all. On the 360 however you and the person you chat with can be in two separate games for that matter. Something that would be more than welcome seeing as most of my friends has a Ps3 and not a 360 and that way I could talk with them and play separate games at the same time. On the PS3 there is also not a Party chat something which just have been added recently to the 360 anyway so I'm not going to drag down on that.

Yes there was something else, ah now I remember the possibility to use the XMB bar to invite your friends to a game. Something that is nonexistent on the PS3. Not that its important seeing as you probably send some text messages to people you want to play with and arrange everything in game anyway. But it can be time saving when you just want to skip the formalities and just play games a invite to game button would be nice.

No the PS3 also have some things I prefer over the 360 and that is how easy it is to copy files from an external hard drive over to the PS3. I love that feature so practical. But really when that's the ONLY thing you have done better than your competitor when it comes to online gaming then you're kind of not doing your job right. I could also go on and **** about how I feel the PS Store is harder to navigate but that is just what I think, and everybody have a different taste when it comes to stuff like that so. Basically what I'm saying with all this ranting, get your s*** together Sony, had all these features mentioned above been added to the PS3 and PS Network it would be so much better. In other words copy the s*** out of how Xbox have built their Xbox Live service and do it better. And I might prefer PS Network over it one day (probably not but hey it's a possibility). Also Sony gets props for most slickest interface whereas the 360 one is a bit more messy in my opinion but after the NXE I would say they are about the same, again it comes down to what you like.

Playstation 3 (about time..)

So I finally got my PS3 (the new 80GB with Dualshock btw) today after having ordered a Playstation 3 back in June, finally Sony decided to ship out PS3's to Norway again after all the 40GBs were sold out.

Guess I gotta get some games now then. :P
