Bare knuckles.thirstychainsaw

I second this one.

It would also be cool to see people bring back the style of the middle ages and use some swords too. Hahaha! Heads everywhere!

I have no problem playing games on mine. But, then again, I don't play a lot of high-end games on my computer. The only games I usually play are Starcraft, Quake's 1-3, World of Warcraft, Worms 2, and the Doom series. Well, other than Doom 3 of course.

But I did read that if you want to play your latest games then you should wait a while for Vista to become more compatible. Wait a while for the updates, whenever they come out.

I'd say to just walk into your local Hot Topic and stay there for about 20 minutes. You should get plenty of education about it there.

You know what? I remember when Hot Topic used to be cool. It used to look pretty much like Rob Zombie's house. All the horror themed stuff with a heavy metal twist to it.

And then, over the past couple of years, it turned into a shop for puss**s. I look in the window and see Fall Out Boy and 30 Seconds To Mars and I wish they would just kill themselves and quit whining. I wish that Hot Topic would bring back the whole spooky/heavy metal feel to the store like they used to have.

Lol. Love it when people think they know what they are talking about.

Hahaha! Me too!

Yes, I can tell.

I take it you don't shop there that much. Am I correct?

No, I do not.

I take it you don't know what "emo" is, am I correct? Yes, I am.

Emo is not only a God awful style of music, but it's a God awful lifestyle as well. The tight, women's,holocaust-size jeans on 17 year old boys, the constant hair straightening to put it in one's face to impair one's vision, and let's not forget their impact on the world of MySpace with the repetitive camera angles, is more than enough information I need to give to you to let you know what the majority of the population thinks of 'Emo' as.

But, due to your defensive retorts on this subject, I take it you're an 'Emo.' Am I correct? "Yes, I am."

I think it would be pretty cool to be a genre of music, but sadly, I am not.

And what the "majority" of the population thinks of "emo", is often incorrect. I would proceed to tell you what it is and what kind of music it includes (sorry, No Fallout Boy or 30 Seconds to Mars, my good friend!), but it seems you are so stuck in your scholarly definition, that it would be pointless for me to do so.

Pointless? No, please, tell me. I would love to learn what other possible definition you could have for 'Emo' other than the "often incorrect" ones. If I could learn anything about 'Emo' people I would want to learn it from you. If not, than I suppose you could hold your "scholarly definition" inside and never let the world know what you believe to be 'Emo.' That way the argument between what is emo and what isn't will continue to live on in this world or these forums at least.

It's your choice. "Yes, and it's the choice of a new generation." *sips a Pepsi*

That's just it. You won't learn about 'emo people' because they do not exist. Emo is not a style and it is not a person. First off, your fun word, 'emo', stands for 'emotional hardcore'. Plain and simple, it is a genre of music. To help you out, it mostly stemmed from the hardcore punk scene in the 80s (ala Rites Of Spring). Early emo included Moss Icon, Indian Summer, and Embrace. While good emo seems to be a dying genre, there are still a few good acts there such as Seeing Means More. What you and many think of emo is, sorry to say, wrong. Fallout Boy, My Chemical Romance, and other such MTV acts aren't and never will be emo.

I enjoy your "intelligent" act, but I'm afraid to tell you, it is only an act. Of course, defining this for you will change nothing. Ignorance thrives in this world. Sad to say, but I have never seen emo so ignorantly defined. GameSpot will really takes the cake in that area. People such as Nuclearaddict have been defending this **** since OT started. It's pointless, really.

Oh, but did I not state that 'emo' was a style of music? Ah, I forgot. I said, "God-Awful style of music." Oops! So we should all really ditch the word emo because the style is dead? Or is it just being ripped off by a bunch of whiney, little bit**es?

Seeing that so much music can be branched off of an original idea and still be called that same name, I see no reason why I shouldn't call it 'emo.' Back in the good ol' days when Iggy Pop was sliding his belly across broken glass onstage, his music was being called 'punk,' right? Sorry, The Stooges music. But today you've got a band like Greenday calling themselves 'punk,' and they don't do half the sh*t that the early 'punk' bands of the eighties did, yet they are still deemed as 'punk.'

So I'm sorry my good friend, but this music will continue to be called 'emo' instead of 'mainstream' or 'scene' which it should be. The stereotype will live on as a bunch of anorexic looking, androgynous, young teens who listen to the music of extremely talentless musicians. There's, almost, no stopping it.

And, by the way, why should you be "afraid" to tell me that you enjoyed my "intelligent act?" True, I don't take flattery that well, but I did enjoy the compliment.

Sure you said it was music, but you also tagged it being in the same vein as the kids shopping at Hot Topic. You also tagged the wrong music. And thank you for the Green Day example, but it makes absolutely no sense. I don't see why everyone should conform to one's made up genre tags just because a bunch of ignorant teenagers have placed the name on it. I see that is how your mind works and it makes me wondering why I am even arguing with you.

Also, I know nothing is going to change. The world is ignorant. Fair enough, so thanks for stating the obvious.

You're absolutely welcome! Anything to help out a friend. I look forward to having more arguments with you in the future. You were some good exercise. Hahaha!

Ta-ta!

-A.

F.E.A.R. is an amazing game. I've always wanted it for the PC but I don't have a computer of high-end gaming quality so I had to get the 360 version.

But from playing it on the 360 I'd have to say that it's one of the best shooters I've played. It does an amazing job of incorporating horror from a physical and mental standpoint.

And the only way you are going to be able to play these frightening games and not be easily scared is to build up a tolerance for them.

If you want to be cured of your slight fear for spooky games than I also highly recommend playing the Silent Hill series. If you can play through Silent Hill's 1-4 in the dark with your windows covered while nobody is home but you, than you will be cured. Make sure you have your stereo blasting too.

But, yes. F.E.A.R. is a must play.

[QUOTE="Vampyronight"]Tech TV was great....once it became G4TV, it sucked. Hard.speed1

I liked TechTV alot.

I'm going to have to agree with these guys too. When it was Tech TV, it seemed like a really good news channel for video games, computers, and other technological gadgets.

But now it's become what MTV has become. Like MTV, which doesn't play music anymore, G4 just doesn't deliver like Tech TV used to. I loved watching Leo and Pat on The Screensavers. Theywere funnyas Hell. Although I must say that my crush on Morgan Webb still exists to this day.
