Yep, my Xbox 360 was plagued with troubles. They don't make 'em like they used to. I've still got my Sega, NES, SNES and PS1 they are play as well as they did the first day I got them!

Oblivion. Just couldnt get into it the first time. Replayed it at least a year later and played through it twice.

Same for me. I think I just found it a bit overwhelming at first, you are essentially just dumped into this massive world and left to your own devices. I stowed it away for ages, until I got sick one week and decided to bring it out. It was like crack after a few hours, I couldn't put it down!

If the quality dropped severely and the franchise began to depend solely on its name I'd lose interest. But as long as the game as good and the story is engrossing, I'll remain interested.

It's good for what it is, unfortunately it's just another shooter. I haven't spent that much time with it (because I'm finding it impossible to get interested in it), but it's just one sidequest after another and I'm feeling like there's very little point to it. Who knows, maybe it gets better later on, but the way it is now, I'll be surprised if I ever make it to later on.

Yeah it unfortunately lacks depth. A lot of potential with a great setting and look, but it ends up just being another A to B shooter. Wish they had opened it up a bit more and fleshed out some RPG elements. I love that they went to some effort to put them minigames and the like in there, but they aren't really as engrossing as I'd like. I was pysched when I heard it had a collectible card game, my mind flashed back to Final Fantasy and Triple Triad, but it doesn't really compare.

id is a bit out of touch these days in my opinion. I think people expect a little more depth in their games these days, especially ones that are pretty much solely single player experiences. Running and gunning for no reason than to shoot things was enough for me in the 90s with Quake, but I think my taste has evolved a fair bit since then though.

Just my 2 cents.

You've only been using one save file? Strange. I can only vaguely remember this mission, but why don't you just make a separate save now and then try all your options to see what happens. Also I doubt you would've actually done anything to make those characters hostile, they were probably just programmed to always be that way.

Edit: Derp, silly me. I assumed Donovan and Brick were baddies, but they are the Rangers, right? Makes more sense now. You don't need to get a wrench off one of those guys though, you need a fisson battery for the elevator to work. I think you can find one in the hotel or the hospital. No idea why those guys are hostile though, sounds like it's glitched (googling seems to confirm this). I know it's only rubbing salt into the wound now, but use more than one save man!
