Unfortunately I haven't seen much Japanese HD games to be very successful only few managed to be the best (Bayonetta, Vanquish, Street Fighter IV etc). I also know that PSP is really famous in Japan but what about the piracy? Isn't piracy PSP's biggest trouble?Most likely because developing for the PSP is way cheaper therefore less riky compared to bigger consoles and the PSP is doing well in Japan Alone. IIRC, SE main is in Japan as well.
It might garner better profit margins.

In the past few year PSP has really added great games into its library. For me the year 2008 was like a turning point for PSP. Incredibly great games were published like MGS Peace Walker, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Persona 3 Portable, Dissidia and off course don't forget Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
When you look at gamespot's Top 10 PSP games it is;
1. Dissidia 2
2. 3rd Birthday
3. Lord of Arcana
4. Final Fantasy XIII Agito
5. Tactics Ogre
So why did Square Enix began producing games on PSP? I thought PSP was at the edge of extinction. I really love to see those beautiful games on PSP but why Square Enix doesn't prefer to make games on HD consoles?
Dissidia Duodecim is kind an expansion pack so you don't need to play the first one. Even the story is not that so great.I'm interested in most of those games, but I need to read reviews before I buy them or in FF Dissidia's case, I need to play the first game in the series.

hmmmm. I don't really know. but look at the tactical japaneese games, they are dead bad.brucewayne5The creator of Onimusha series Keiji Inafune stated that Japanese games are about 5 years behind the modern games. He resigned from Capcom and moved to a US game developing studio (EA Games if i am not wrong).
So many posts and no mention of Dead or Alive Paradise yet? :Pkieranb2000Please don't remind me that it brings me back those horrible memories
First 2 Parasite Eve games on PS1 was just like Resident Evil series. Now the game has changed its concept and became a more shooter type.3rd Birthday looks awesome. I've never played a PE title; I really should. That way I can say I'm playing for love of the series, not because I looked at Aya and went, "omg want videogaem now".
Not, of course, that I did that or anything.

GT Portable is that same game that I played back in year 1998 just with better graphics and larger amount of car collection. Even I am not satisfied with GT5 either. We have waited 5 years for few new features. Lame standard cars (still can't believe Bugatti Veyron is a Standard car and the awful Fiat 500 is a premium car), senseless course making, unrealistic damage, poor environment visuals and zombie AI.
