In my opinion 5th generation is the year of innovation such as pioneering true 3D graphics, and virtually paved out the way for our generation of gaming such as how Goldeneye 007 was the first successful FPS on a console, Deus Ex was released late in the generation which was one of the first game to offer alot of player choice, Quake was a very important step in innovating 3D graphics and was one of the factors which gave rise to graphics cards, LoZ: Ocarina of Time reinvented the formula used in previous action-adventure games and OoT's blueprints are still important to many 3D games today.

Halo Combat Evolved, not that it is a bad game but I don't understand why people always keep praising it as one of the heights in FPS history. There were very little guns which were mainly point and shoot weapons, level design varied from very good to horrible and repetitive. And even though it offered alot of multiplayer options it wasn't avaliable for online play since Xbox Live wasn't created yet.

Wow, he is that much of a fan that he killed himself over a movie yet he hasn't even read the original book that the movie was based on...

I don't hate the Halo series, but in my opinion the single player campaigns is very lackluster and uninteresting and that the Halo series is generally best suited for multiplayer due to the balanced weapons and very repetetive enemies.

Immortality for the one who can produce the next Deus Ex with its fundamentals derived from the original game itself.

Deus Ex: Invisible War It didn't quite live up to the RPG element of the first Deus Ex and it was toned down drastically (removed the skills system, universal ammo etc.) for the Xbox and that the levels weren't as big and open-ended like the first one and that the graphics are very under-par compared to games such as Doom 3, UT04, TE:3 and such. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask I understand why people liked MM, but it just felt tedious and repetitive with the going back in the time trick. Although the masks were very cool and the dungeons were well designed, it started rather slow. Personally I prefer Twilight Princess as a "sequel" to OoT. Daikatana I'd sort of consider Daikatana the spiritual sequel to John Romero's previous works such as Quake and Doom which he probably used as a base for Daikatana, and after 3 years I got buggy AI, under-parred graphics, prone to crashing and tedious, repetitive action which unlike Serious Sam bored me. Bonus one: Duke Nukem Forever, didn't get released after 13 years. Sorta a kick in the area for all the fans (including myself) of Duke.

What I don't get fanboy/fangirl logic really, why are they limiting themselves to a single console? They're really stopping themselves from enjoying good quality games on different consoles and the only reason why I see attacks on well acclaimed exclusive titles such as Zelda, Halo etc. etc. are because they are on the "enemy" console. Really the corporation that makes these consoles wouldn't really give a damn if you do "betray" your console by buying a PS3/360/Wii, because your just a consumer and really why can't we just ENJOY the games rather than make a war out of consoles?
