Too bad nobody who is a gamer cares, because they all use Windows. Only server admins and hackers have any use for that operating system.

We don't use Windows because we like it, we use it because it's the only option available.

With that said, Windows is a terrible operating system. It's slow and unintuitive. I would uninstall it in a heartbeat if a viable alternative presented itself.

Slow and unintuitive? You need to upgrade from Windows 95 dude.

The thing that baffles me the most, is why do people want MS to continue having a monopoly on PC gaming? or on OS? They couldn't care less about PC gaming, its all about the xbone for them. Why not have PC gaming migrate to Linux, and finally be independent?

What baffles me the most is why we should all move to Linux? and please don't say cause it's free.

Someone give me a valid reason and I'll head there today.

What's the hurry? What's the desperation for Windows to die? If that happens it's going to affect PC gaming more than anyone realizes. You really think that Linux, who has no central big money company behind it, is somehow magically going to help PC gaming? People need to see the big picture here.

1. You'll save $100 every time you build a PC

2. You'll be breaking up a monopoly (which is never good for consumers)

And how is MS supporting PC gaming? It is literally doing nothing of the sort. It is just an operating system. What a baseless comment.

1. Yes cause that's a massive saving in the grand scheme of things, not.

2. If breaking a monopoly means fragmenting PC gaming, then it could be even worse.

I never said MS supports PC gaming, read properly.

You've presented no counter arguments. Good job.

@NaveedLife said:I just started a new character in Skyrim to see if that scratches the itch. Honestly, not going so hot. Does melee combat ever get fun? I did magic first, which I liked, but melee is so disconnected and boring (at least at first). And I really wish the game was third person (and well done, not how the current 3rd person looks).

Nah...Combat (especially melee) in Skyrim is just plain bad. I knew it would be very similar to Oblivion when they tried bs-ing ppl with the whole "brand new creation engine" nonsense, when obviously it still was the Gamybro.

Try Dark/Demons Souls or Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen if you haven't. MUCH better and more fun combat in those games.

Funny enough, I beat Dark Souls right before jumping into the Witcher 2. Suffice to say I was quite disappointed by the drop-off in combat quality. Dark Souls has the best combat system I've ever used in an action game (it's like an old school fighting game transposed into a third person action game, that's how tight it is). The Witcher 2 is fine, but the combat is very generic and "out of your hands" (at the continuous press of a single button you'll have Geralt leaping around the map linking together absurd combos). That's not to say it isn't a fun game, it is.

Is there any difference?

Amazon is selling the "For Windows" version while Newegg is selling the regular 360 version (same price).

I would prefer to get it from Newegg since I can return products to their warehouse in Toronto in case of defects. But I don't want to get it if the "For Windows" version is superior.

I've read some stuff about the firmware being different in the normal 360 version. I don't console game, so this will be used exclusively for PC gaming. I want this to work flawlessly with all of my games.

I previously used a Logitech F310 but the RB button broke after a few months of light use. I'd like to try something different, and I prefer offset analog placement anyway.

And before anyone decides to be a wise ass and ask me why I'm using a controller on the PC, I'd like to remind you that there are other genres of games apart from FPSs, RTSs, and MOBAs.

Word of advice:

Keep in mind that these are two VERY different games. The Witcher 1 is more of an interactive story (the combat system is just a simple point-and-click). The Witcher 2 has an actual combat system (it's a hack-and-slash game).

I bought both during the last sale (same prices), but literally pumped just 15 minutes into the first one before never touching it again.

What value?

Library? Both consoles have the same games

Hardware? PS4 has it beat

Online? XBL wins, but this is hardly a selling point in 2014

Gimmicks? Sure XB1 has gimmicks like webcams and other junk, but nobody cares about that

LOL@ After Mail In Rebate

No blu ray, nor controller. Good luck with this cheap bulid not having any issues

Benny_Blakk

Why the **** would anyone want a Blu-Ray player and a controller?

Oh wait, console kids still use discs to play their games! Have fun with your auto-aim too!

They really are. 99% percent of their libraries overlap.

I don't think I've ever spent more than 10 hours with a GTA game. Don't get me wrong, I have a blast for those 10 hours, but ultimately, each game is exactly the same as the last one. GTA is probably the most stale video game franchise out there.
