Can the real good guys stand up to the criminals, vigilantes, and anti-heroes that we're used to playing as?
Fighting crime isn't all glamour and excitement. The job of a protector of the peace isn't all shootouts, car chases, street brawls, damsels in distress, and throwing cars at super villains. There's a lot of walking arou... Read Full Review0 of 1 users found the following review helpful
Rock Band 3
Across-the-board interface improvements and incredible new Pro Mode make this the definitive music-rhythm game!
This review is a bit belated. This is mostly due to the fact that I didn't want to write a full analysis of the game until I had a chance to play the new PRO guitar mode, the controls for which weren't available publicly... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
Madden NFL 11
More than just a roster-update, but GameFlow is worthless and not worth the full price if you already own Madden 10.
Its that time of year again. The NFL Hall of Fame game was just played over the weekend, and now its time for the annual release of EA's powerhouse licensed NFL game, Madden. This year's release promises to completely re... Read Full Review1 of 2 users found the following review helpful
Fun and graphically very pretty puzzle-platformer, but physics and controls could have used a little more work.
If you look at the review score above, and think "Wow, this game must be super-amazing to be given a 9!", you should be aware that the score takes into account that this game is a relatively cheap PSN downloadable title.... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
The "Final Fantasy" name is synonymous with "quality". The idea that any FF game could ever be bad is tantamount to gaming blasphemy. The reputation is well-deserved, as the franchise has consistently provided incredibly... Read Full Review15 of 19 users found the following review helpful
I was expecting an Epic Masterpiece as the conclusion to Kratos's vengeance, but instead, I got a merely passable sequel
The first two God of War games on the PS2 were epic action adventures that gave players an amazing sense of scale and grandeur. The action was fast and fluid, and the platforming mostly worked. The games were also insane... Read Full Review7 of 21 users found the following review helpful
The Saboteur is a very novel game. For one thing, it is a fresh and appealing take on the stagnant genre of World War II-themed games. Essentially GTA in Nazi-occupied France, this game is pretty to look at and a lot of ... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
NCAA Football 11
The game looks great, but new gameplay mechanics are nice ideas that only seem to create more bugs and problems.
EA really needs some competition in the football gaming market. I can't imagine any football gaming fan NOT wanting the NCAA to discontinue EA's NCAA football-exclusivity license when it expires either this year or next.... Read Full Review3 of 3 users found the following review helpful
Combining a Western theme with open-world gameplay seems genius. But Red Dead falls just short of "genius"
I was very impressed with Grand Theft Auto IV. Before the game had come out, I worried that the formula would be stale, and that Rockstar would just throw so much content into the game that it would overwhelm the player ... Read Full Review7 of 11 users found the following review helpful
Less like a game of pro football, and more like a pick-up game with 100 people who don't know what they're doing.
I've been waiting for Backbreaker for years. Following every dev diary, watching every trailer, drooling over every new tidbit of information, all the while, fully expecting that it is going to unseat Madden by revolutio... Read Full Review1 of 3 users found the following review helpful
Braid is a bit of a two-sided game. On the one hand, its a marvelously clever and original game that takes all the assumptions you have about the traditional platformer (since the days of Super Mario Bros.) and flips the... Read Full Review1 of 1 users found the following review helpful
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Drake's Fortune was one of the best games on the PS3. But it was flawed. The platforming was almost perfect, but its combat left a lot to be desired. Enemies came in wave after wave of unreasonable numbers, and the end o... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
The Sims 3
Mixes some "Well its about time!" enhancements with an irritating proliferation of blatant corner-cutting
EA and Will Wright thouroughly dropped the ball with Spore. I don't know how that game got such good ratings from critical sites. I never really had the fear of such a thing happening with the Sims, but came to the sad... Read Full Review10 of 13 users found the following review helpful
Madden NFL 09
This is the first Madden game that truly feels "Next Gen". Its too bad we had to wait until the "Next Gen" consoles were four years old before we got this game though. And its still far from perfect. In fact, it is still... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful

Good luck getting far enough into the game that the rewards are worth the frustration...But if you do, you'll be pleased
In order to give the reader an adequate view of how this game develops over time, I have separated my review based on the date written, and will continue to update the review for as long as I am playing the game: MY... Read Full Review13 of 36 users found the following review helpful
Feels like the movie Saw mixed with CSI:SVU,NYPD Blue, and even a little X-Files. A can't miss thrill-ride!
This is a game I've been keeping tabs on for several years, since that first tech demo over 3 years ago. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it, and I am pleased to say that it is the first game to come out this year that... Read Full Review2 of 2 users found the following review helpful
Much like Star Trek Enterprise, STO is a passable game on its own right, but fails at being good Star Trek
I've never played MMOs before. Star Trek Online is my introduction to Massive Multiplayer Online RPGs. I've played some online games. Metal Gear Online, Madden, Rock Band, Civilization. But never a true MMO. As such, I a... Read Full Review6 of 9 users found the following review helpful
The game is full of minor problems and minor design hiccups, but is overall well conceived and well executed GoW clone
"Dante's Inferno" is another one of those games that is very tough for me to review. On the one hand, much of the game was fun to play, and I found the narrative and atmosphere to be compelling enough that I wanted to ke... Read Full Review1 of 3 users found the following review helpful
Climax has perfectly mixed the premise of the first Silent Hill with the psychological story-telling of Silent Hill 2
I'm a long-time fan of Silent Hill. I started with Silent Hill 2, which is my favorite game to date, and eventually made my way through the first game all the way up to the PSP's "Origins" and last year's craptacular "Ho... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
A case of a Japanese-developed game being taken over by an American studio that just doesn't "get it"
I went into this game with low expectations, and justifiably so. Between the low unjustly low reception of Silent Hill 4, lackluster movie, the disbanding of Konami's Team Silent dev group, the all-right-but-not-great O... Read Full Review5 of 9 users found the following review helpful
Gameplay changes, poor balance, and a host of user exploits make this game feel clumsy and very "un-football"
Giving an NCAA Football game a bad review is a tough pill for me to swallow. I first played this franchise back in the late 90's on the PS1 and really enjoyed the way it played, and started picking it up on an annual bas... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
If Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil had a love-child who was a Batman fan, it would be this game. Its a good thing.
I was never a huge Batman fan. I'm more of a Spider-Man guy. I don't dislike Batman (afterall, he and Spider-Man are very similar characters), but I didn't go crazy for this game when I heard about it. That is, until I s... Read Full Review0 of 0 users found the following review helpful
A limited songlist, lack of a few hoped-for features, and the overpriced bundle don't offset the quality of the gameplay
First of all, the purchase of this game's overpriced bundle should be relgated to only people who fall into one of the following three categories: a.) Hard-core Beatles fans b.) Hard-core Rock Band fans or c.) people who... Read Full Review4 of 4 users found the following review helpful
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition
Poor balancing of the level-scaling, graphics/gameplay bugs, and questionable AI keep this game from being great IMO
This is a hard game to review. Mostly because I see how most people could really love this game. It is deep, it is complex, it is highly immersive, and first-person sword and shield combat is pretty cool. But nagging pro... Read Full Review1 of 2 users found the following review helpful
