@DJ8WORK true, but that's like asking the other way round :) I would enjoy it even less, so to speak.
Of course graphics are important, the should all have a certain standard. But it's not that difficult, you can license engines like unreal engine...It's all about game designers who simply get lost in their allegedly awesome engine but miss the point of the game..
Ask yourself..in Crysis 3, do you really feel like that massive supercyborg, layin' dudes to waste? Yes you do but I felt like that much more in other games..and that's the point when game designers should realize, that there is a certain style to a game..a gameplay.
Is it more arcade or more simulation is where it starts and it ends with the damage model and impact animations of weapons etc.
What Yerli does is exactly this:
He invented a great game engine with a high level of detail and behaves as if you cannot make a frog lay eggs in that engine, you can't even compete, as it's "all about the graphics"..
Unfortunately it isn't about those things he considers important, the lighting effects are only as great as the color palette used..the style, like gritty or mario, like saturated or realistic and flat..how does an enemy react to your weapons..so much..and he should have spend the equal amount of time in that department..that's what I call gameplay..
Just imagine how much better it would feel to have enemies die like in max payne, and that on a crysis mapscale..that's where Yerli should look at imo, if he is so fit in game engines.
Yes, so true! Maybe Cryengine is great for pimped out PCs, but I doubt it..it lacks style, a consistency not only in graphics, but physics, everything, it's hard to describe, but as you already said, you see it, too..well, difficult not to see imho, maybe for Yerli, blinded by his lights.. no style :(
It's sad, as the premise of crysis is so great..just imagine crisis in a graphics style like Bulletstorm on unreal engine, cyborg madness!

"Play Crysis and tell me [graphics] don't matter"..you're right Yerli, it would be horrible if Crysis 3 had bad graphics on top of everything else that sucked gameplay- and style wise..this guy is lost.
I wonder how we even dared to start our crappy 16-bit games back then.
