I have a Corsair HX 620w PSU, I already run a GTX 470 and a Core 2 Quad Extreme with 4GB DDR2 RAM on it just fine, I'm upgrading to a custom rig which will have the same GPU, a Sandy Bridge i5 s500k, 8GB of DDR3 1600Mhz RAM, and (don't think this matter but oh well) a HAF 912 case, will keeping my 620w PSU work without any issues?

I want to play recently released titles at pretty good settings. The only thing is that I don't have a monitor that has really high resolution only 1440 x 900. What can be a good card to play these games at pretty high setting with my limited resolution monitor?

Solid_Link22

i'd say a gtx 460 as well

Hey guys, building my first PC here. Done a good amount of research over the past week or so and this is what I've come up with. Any suggestions or changes are helpful. Budget is under 850$, with windows 7 included in the price.

-Price was cut off on the picture but windows 7 is there also.

Final price is 842.90.

Netbooks are great for those who want extended battery life and excellent mobility for browsing the web, productivity, and some multimedia applications.

You should be able to run it on lower-res medium settings, also remember to use the AC adapter in order to get the best framerate.

Hey guys/girls,

A lot of people have suggested this mouse [Logitech MX518] to others and I just saw it going on special today on Newegg.ca so I thought I'd share it.

[QUOTE="C_Rule"][QUOTE="UltimateGamer95"][QUOTE="C_Rule"]Also, a side question, for anyone who knows; Why have manufacturers ditched the docking station things? My dads current laptop which is a Toshiba Tecra has a slot on the bottom which clips into a docking station that you can plug all your stuff into. These seem very handy, I don't know why Toshiba no longer do this.

probably because its one more thing you have to carry around with you lol

No, you just leave it at home, connected to your home set-up.

hmm dunno then cause i've never really used a docking station before. I suspect they dont make them much anymore because i guess the assumption is that most people arent going to be getting a laptop for mostly home use lol.

[QUOTE="UltimateGamer95"][QUOTE="Spellingiscool"]Thank you for the advice. I will be switching to a caviar black. Now I just need to find a case. Spellingiscool
speaking of which how much money is left in your budget for a case?

Hoping to spend no more than $100 but I can go over if need be.

excellent :) here's some suggestions for cases i have:

[QUOTE="evildead6789"]

Ok you went cheaper on your motherboard and psu and case, so you saved money but what are you going to do with 850W thermaltake and not have a crossfire or sli, that motherboard has only 7 reviews, thermaltake isn't known as the best psu manufacturer if you spend so much money i wouldn't take any chances. Saving money is good but not like this, your first build was way better (allthough more expensive)

evildead6789

stop being so critical . Thermaltake makes very high quality power supplies and also never judge a motherboard by how many reviews it has, I've owned MSI motherboards before and they are flawless.

Sorry, but being critical is a good thing for everyone here. Thermaltake isn't the best quality brand, i'm not saying they're bad but why take chances, thermaltake is especially known for cases and fans, they didn't really make a name yet in the psu business.

Msi has a good name yes but they have made bad motherboards like everyone has, i even got one (a bad one that is)once. 7 reviews isn't much to base yourself on.

the problem is your information is false, and arrogance will not help anyone but yourself. What I say I say from experience. Thermaltake has been making power supplies longer than Corsair has and MSI is a top notch quality motherboard manufacturer, and Just because a product doesnt have many reviews doesnt mean its bad.
