Would help if there was a video quality setting on here. To me it looks like I'm seeing this so called graphics comparison in low res.

They should rename this: "No man's sky promotional video"

Failed to mention the BF4 scandal having an effect on sales.

Also, releasing two triple A shooters side by side will cannibalise the sales of others short term and will affect player numbers.

Oh so basically this trailer shows what Valve, EA, Tripwire Interactive and Ubisoft have been doing... skin skin, skin-a-ling-ling. Money money money. How might you ask, could I know this? Mmm giant spiky baton. But how? Well, see it from a business perspective and while glorifying melee, in what is otherwise a pretty pointless trailer, they're highlighting the weapon used and you know straight away that someone has weighed up the microtransaction choices from other developers (thanks Valve, and yeah I hate you too - among others) and they can quite easily picture this guy running with a gold cleaver in his hand, or a tanto, or a spade, or a thomas the tank engine train (with a money bag in the other hand and a grin under his visor).

I miss the era of games being games and none of that mobile-esque microtransaction bullshit being there.

"But it's optional" say the children. I know... doesn't excuse greed.

Oh and remember BF4? The purposely fed lies to mislead consumers and media, so a few higher-ups at EA could cash in their shares before the game released... that was just one aspect of it. Because EA hadn't been doing so great in the PC sector the previous year, they also decided to ditch all official EA/DICE servers and rely solely on third party hosting which was sponsored and paid for by third party server hosts. Thing is, many real world people had to buy servers to populate a frankly disappointing lack of BF4 servers given its age at the time. Just to note, some DICE servers were put up, but that was due to players having the option to help them investigate possibly the worst hit registry of all time.

I wish people wouldn't buy these stupid micro DLC things as well... it's because of them idiots that such tat is included in supposed triple-A games.

I would LOVE CDPRed to make a 1st person shooter.

Enjoy the expensive gimmick lolol at that price. I bet currency conversion isn't considered either.

Get him to come back. Those were the times when GameSpot wasn't full of hipsters who love to see and hear themselves on the camera all of the time, or make 12,000 different shows and all have wildly different views on games.

Oh and maybe links would point to the right content.

Oh and the archive? Find something from way back? 1000x more of a hassle than it was a few years ago.

GameSpot is the comedy of game media.

Still won't forget that review for Battlefield 4... ahem, the review copy of BF4, not the actual release that audiences got, which was massively different. (The review copy being media only, to actively mislead consumers - but as we all know, anything goes in the gaming industry and EA are the biggest bunch of crooks in the business).

:) Good day!

@McGuirex3 Kevin actually plays games and I don't see much, if any bias. He puts good points across and notices things that mindless reviewer simpletons at GameSpot do not. He is fair and his reviews tend to be good.

Move onto the rest of them and over the years, every time I come on Gamespot I find myself thinking: "What have they done to this place?" or "What the F kind of review was THAT?!".

Again, as I've already said, 5+ years back (probably longer now), I could rely on Gamespot reviews so much so that every single game I bought (with a bit of extra research of course), would be BANG on as they said it would be and if it was good, it WAS good. However since they opened the flood gates and employed tons of hipster kids who just like the sound of their own voices and having their face on the camera (ooooh e-FAME! WOOO!), then all the seriousness went out of the window and over the last several years their reviews have become wildly inconsistent, inaccurate (on some games) and so much bias seeps in from some reviewers that it wrongly paints a good picture for a rinse-n'-repeat game but paints a disastrous picture for games that are otherwise fairly good.

I only come here every so often now, but why on earth am I seeing an 8 for this game is simply beyond me. In all fairness though I've not played it and I've not seen a great deal, but to me the Multi-player looks like nothing more than a mish-mash of clusterfook and reminds me so much of a mix between Crysis and Unreal (somehow) that it just looks like a poorly executed arena/deathmatch game. Sit through a lets play of some whiny teens videos on YouTube and see how generic and bland the gameplay looks.

Gamespot logic: gives CoD fanboy Author CoD game to review.

It's things like this why I can't take Gamespot seriously. Oh and as I've mentioned in the past (numerous times), the horrendous bias and/or inconsistency in their reviews is another reason why all of their reviews, for me, can never be taken seriously, even as a rough guide. Over 5 years back, GS was a good source... not these days.

(...unless otherwise done by Kevin, who seems to be the only good reviewer that remains at GameSpot)

*Promoted* < Ahem.

Oh a traditional playlist? Surprise surprise, not... just adds to the 33 million game modes that the Call of Duty franchise has, trying to appeal to all gamers in an effort to score max profit whilst dividing the player base.

Not that I care... I haven't bought a COD game since MW2.

COD4 the last decent COD game.
