the PS3 definately has a lot and is well worth the money if you can find one. I'm not going to get one because: 1. it's too damn expensive 2. I don't have any plans to get a HDTV anytime soon (but i would like one) 3. the playstation 3 has no games that i am interestested in 4. blu-ray means nothing to me unless i get a blu-ray computer drive and need to watch movies beyond the current DVD experience 5. Sony is yet to impress me with their online strategies (unlike MS, where i am yet to own a 360 and don't plan to) 6. I don't have a fast ADSL connection 7. I don't want to fork out additional money just for better graphics and a copied controller idea (upon many) 8. I live in Australia, hence games are already expensive already and will become more expensive with the introduction of the PS3 in 2007! 9. I don't care about the PSP (eventhough it is a very good system with many flaws in relation to its portability status) so a PS3 is the same to me 10. I'm getting a Wii and already have a DS Lite Congratulations to those who manage to get a PS3 on launch or this year andfor the rest of us (Aussies and Europeans), buy a Wii to fill in that gap known as the holiday season. Happy gaming!
wow, the GBA and DS have loading time of over 20 seconds on average? How did they measure that. I've been playing DS and GBA games for a while and have not noticed them... And when i play with my cousin's PSP, i crindge at the "now loading" srceens (hence why I do not own a PSP). The fastest being 51 seconds for a PSP game? Yet another blow to the UMD format.
Xbox 360, the Wii and the PS3 all have their faults: Xbox 360: not as powerful as the PS3 and limited disc storage space for 'HD', the core package SUCKS, internet cost money and a bunch of other things Good points are that it is cheaper than the PS3 and has a great online service and is available NOW Wii: inferior graphics and their kiddy image Good points: cheap, innovative control system, small and compact and cheap development for game makers (c'mon, its a GC on steriods! jks!) and it's Nintendo! and its got a self loading disc drive! PS3: hugely expensive. copied Spidy's font, stupid 'six degrees of movement', high cost to EVERYONE and its huge, not to mention its non gaming functions (PSP anyone), and crap 20GB console option (like the core) and also, its likey to break down like our current PS2's (anyone waiting for the 'slim' version of the PS3 in the coming years?) Good points: true HD experience, cheap multifunction system All will be able to play games (duh!) and have internet access (and ALL likely have downloadable games - Wii and 360 already have it, Sony gonna copy again?) My verdict: its your choice on what you buy, personally, I love my DS and very soon, it will match to my Wii (yes, its that big and you can touch it) soon First place for 'this" next gen, Wii, then xbox 360 and a distant last PS3 (will the PS3 make money if it's a cheap BD player?)
