Hello, I am stationed in Germany and am trying to build a pc, I was planning on importing parts from the us, but then I found out that it would be way too expensive, so here is my revised build from amazon.de. Please let me know if it looks alright or if I need to get a psu with more watts, or if I can cut costs or improve performance with very little extra cost. Thanks. PC specs: Thermaltake Smart M550W 80Plus power supply (550 Watt, 140mm Fan, Active PFC) - Thermaltake EUR 67,95 LG GH22NS SATA bulk, SuperMulti Drive, black - LG Electronics Germany GmbH IT EUR 24.90 Corsair 1600 CL9 8GB RAM (1600 MHz, 240-pin, 2x 4GB) DDR3 RAM Vengeance LP kit - Corsair EUR 44.95 AMD FX 6300 Six-Core Processor (3.5 GHz, Socket AM3 + 14MB cache, 95 Watts) - AMD EUR 125.89 Cooler Master HAF912 Plus Midi Tower PC Case ATX Black - Cooler Master Germany EUR 76.03 Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Motherboard Socket AM3 + (ATX, AMD Phenom / Athlon, 4x DDR3, 6x SATA II, 4x USB 3.0) - Gigabyte EUR 59.73 Western Digital WD1002FAEX 1TB internal hard disk (8,9 cm (3.5 inch), 7200rpm, 64MB cache, SATA) - Western Digital EUR 80.37 Sapphire 11200-07-20G Video Card (ATI Radeon HD 7850, PCI-e, 2GB GDDR5 memory, HDMI, 2x DVI, HDMI, 1 GPU) - Sapphire Technology Limited EUR 169.00 Total: EUR 648.82 (US 864.23)

Is that in euro? 207 euros is too much for a 7850. You can get a gtx 660 or a 7870 for that kind of money.

BeerMage
No, it is in US dollars. I'm hoping that amazon.com will ship it to me if I use my Parent's US address as my billing address and my US base address as the shipping address. I'm trying to not use euros if it can be avoided.

I have a Toshiba with the exact same specs. I don't know how it will play diablo 3 but I plan on getting it anyway. If it's any help, it runs portal 2 on medium, starcraft 2 on med/high, torchlight on high, and fallout 3 on medium.

How about before you order the adaptor,Connect the drives with the PSU molex(s) which you should be able to.

CUDGEdave

I heard the adapters are ok but do the job but not the best, I'm still wondering how he got power to his drives lol!

CUDGEdave
I'm really not sure either, unless the IDE cable also runs power through it or something? It's sort of a strange situation lol.

His drives have to be connected to his PSU by the PSU molex cable and of course the IDE to mobo.So was it just a male to male cable on its own that he had his drives connected? so nothing to PSU?

CUDGEdave
Yes, but the drives got power somehow, meaning if you pressed the button to open/close it it would open and close? Its really weird. Also, would that adapter work for IDE to SATA?

ok, so heres the deal. I have a little bit of knowlede about computers but don't know too much about the hardware. My neighbor came to my door earlier today and told me his dvd drive and cd drive on his pc burnt out so he ordered a new one that arrived this morning. The new one is an ASUS with a SATA data port and a SATA power port. I looked inside his computer and found that his old drives have molex/IDE ports. Now, would this adapter work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812240012 Also, the wiring seems to be really strange in his pc. For example, he had the IDE cable from the motherboard going to the 2 drives. But he didnt have these connected to the power supply. Instead, he had a molex male to male cable running from the bottom drive to the top drive without being connected directly to the PS. Is this normal? Or is this why he thinks his drives don't work because the wiring is wrong? A little help please :)

Good trailer.O_o

If anybody still hates on Actvision after that, then they have no soul lol.

I don't think anyone doubts the ability of their marketing department, but there are many reasons to hate on activision.

Not sure if I like those huge bars in the middle of the screen. Also, are the prompts optional or just part of a tutorial? It says in the second video press something to jump down! Press a button to take cover! Can they just let people figure it out for themselves?! :( biggest_loser
Yeah, those bars are way too big and too close to the center of the screen.
