@mellow09 @Rammone4 The same formula you used in Dark Souls can be used at a certain amount here. The combat is not as developed yet the hits connect and the companion gives a great help when used strategically.
@longestsprout @TomJimJack Exactly. A true gamer will play for the pleasure of the game and skip cinematics or other embellishments that seem to sell more these days. Perfect example is Deadly Premonition, a game that in it's core has more gameplay that CoD and Battlefield put together.
This review is a perfect example why people should not be paid to play games when they lack a gamers heart. Bound by Flame has the makings of a good RPG and I really hope in the future will become a franchise on its own.
A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.
@RussellGorall @Jedo Gorall don't turn this in a personal matter. Your compulsive need to reply at each positive comment about this game makes me feel you are at least a VanHore fanboy
This is exactly the same they did to Gothic when it first came out! When you dissect a body of work there are always those who will pick on everything asking for polishing elements while losing the sense of gaming. The combat of this game is fun to master and the gameplay engaging if a game has those elements its certainly worth more. Voice acting and graphics doesn't bother me as much when the heart of the game is in the right place.
It's almost amusing to read GameSp(i)t reviews these days just to turn them the other way around when actually playing the game.
Bound by Flame steps boldly into a gaming world of franchises and big AAA titles that do nothing by repeat the same formula again and again. Personally I found the game engaging with elements that bring back the best of now almost forgotten RPGs like Gothic.
Play the game for what it is and not for what you wanted it to be! You will enjoy it more that way!
