[QUOTE="Duminakan89"]Sorry if this has been answered already but there are way too many posts for me to wade through in one night, but my 360 broke recently and I was wondering since the warranty was extended, do I really need a proof of purchase? I don't know if I have one or not as of right now, but since I received my xbox on the 24th of December 2005, aren't I still in the warranty "safe zone"?.Duminakan89

If your 360 broke because of the Red Rings you should be covered by the 3 years extended warranty but if it is something else I think you might be on your own and have to pay the repair fee. I know that is how it works in the UK but I can't be certain if it is the same in the US.

Yea my box has the three red rings of light so I suppose I'm under the warranty, calling them up right now.

Nice one, the same thing happened to me towards the end of July when I wasno longer under the 1 yearwarranty. When I called up about it Microsoft theywere really good about it,they emailed me some receipts to print off and then I just had to arrange some free pickup for my console and it came back in about 3 weeks. Good luck with it.

Ok, thanks for that. My final query is do you have to use a wireless ethernet bridge to connect to your ps2 or will a wireless access point suffice? Or do they both do the same task? thanks john

I think this is the way that wireless works. Modem--->Router--->Wireless Bridge--->(use ethernet cable from bridge) PS2 Network Adapter/port in back of slimline ps2.

Then you hope and pray you don't get one of those stupid DNAS errors, I had one and had to go back and configure my network settings manually, it worked eventually though.

Personally I did mine through a wired connection and it was easy enough, it just depends on how far away your ps2 is from your router, and if you don't mind seeing a ethernet cable trailing around the house.

no one at all???

If it is with the old PS2 I hear it comes with the network adapter but I have the slimline.

With regards to the slimline there was a code on the back of one of the manuals that came with the console needed for online play. But there was also a code that came with my network access disk after I registered with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), that is the only way to get a network disk in Europe, unfortunately I don't know how things work in America.

I would confirm the length of both the codes I have mentioned but I have lost them so if my PS2 stops working online I am up the proverbial creek without a paddle!

When I bought my new Slim PS2 I think it was on a sticker, stuck to the back of one of the manual/warranty things that came with it. However I also got a code when I registered my PS2, that code came with the network disk. (I am in Europe though, I dont know if it is the same in America)

But if you have the bigger PS2 I dont have a clue.
