I used to go on myspace to find new music but then I subscribed to satellite radio so there was no reason for me to go there anymore. There are also more private ways to find new music these days too such as youtube. A lot of people use twitter these days to talk about things on a more exposed network and I read it sometimes if it's something worth reading, but I will probably never get an account there. Privacy is a big deal for me and I prefer to stay as anonymous as I can manage to be. All in all the only problem I have with anonymity on the internet is tracking cookies that refuse to accept an opt-out request, such as google. That's why I use bing through hotspotshield instead. Unfortunately google is linked to captcha and other things so I can't just block them on my noscript but I do a good job of booting the tracking cookies with outpost security suite. But I will probably never use social networking in the future. Actually I can pretty much guarantee that I won't.

Internet has exposed us significantly, I think it's stupid when people say the world is going too crap. It ain't perfect but the reason people think it's gotten worse is due to the wider exposure of the internet and information we can gain. Before it was just local or national news, now it can be from anywhere.shadowkiller11

I agree with that. The internet gets more and more accepted as time passes. It used to be a nerdy thing and now everyone has access on their mobile phones and most people won't go to college without a computer. On the internet a senior citizen can create a screen name on a forum without posting their age and talk to people as if everyone was the same age and they probably feel young again. Try telling that person that it's not real and they'll probably feel insulted because that illusion of youth likely feels very real to them.

It's not that the world is getting worse but that it's always been this way and a lot more people are aware of it now. Whistleblowers use it to enforce transparency for example, a lot of today's whistleblowers wouldn't be around today if there was no internet. The internet today is as real as pen and paper.

[QUOTE="Talus057"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Yeah I'm Catholic as well...and that isn't even taught. Don't know where you gotthat but it is not dogma of the church. And it's inaccurate to say there isn't some outside corroboration of a man named Jesus.LJS9502_basic
It's in the bible. And there are a lot of things about christianity that aren't spoken of in public, such as the "Only Child Syndrome". Blah blah, save your one liners for that other guy. :P

No it's not. But you could give some links. One liners? I'd rather read succinct posts that submit the idea being presented than line after line that doesn't actually say much. And most long posts here could be summed up with a sentence or two. Filler does not mean right. I'm not here to write a thesis. Do you and your friends provide each other with four, five, six uninterrupted paragraphs when having a discussion? Because frankly that sounds boring.

So you're saying I am wrong because I type in paragraphs instead of one liners and you think that's boring? Cool story, bro.

The only thing you can't do on the internet is currently being invented in Japan.

Don't worry, kids. You can rest your hands soon.
