I got in a little bit of Sine Mora before work today, and it definitely feels like an excellent revitilization of the classic scrolling shooters

Thanks a lot for the input guys! I really should have looked into the graphics card more carefully! Oh well, it's been added to my list of stuff to remember for the next build! :D

[QUOTE="Kinthalis"]Remember that the 6700s are the third class for that family. It's 6900, 6800, 6700. The hd 4770 was a second class card. An equivalent upgrade would have been a 6870. So you moved up two families (well 1.5 as the 6000s are a refresh if the 5000s), but you dropped one class and one tier. Still, that doesn't entirely explain the performance drop.

It seems like CCC was the problem. When I used the new card with updated drivers without CCC installed I got equal performance to the 4770, and with it installed I got the same lower performance, even when using overdrive. Actually I tried using MSI Afterburner too, and it also gave dropped performance. All this aside, would anyone have some recommendations for me? I'm looking for something in the 200 dollar range, what are your thoughts on best performance.

[QUOTE="StevenHawking"] but I should be getting better FPS standard with this new card regardless correct?gmaster456
Its Hard to say. The 4770 is better in some aspects but overall the 6750 is about 9% faster. I don't think that would account for a loss of 20fps though.

That's what I noticed, and going in again I have my new card in currently and got the same framerates as my 4770 now, I still have yet to overclock it, I will have to report it when I do :P

Can i just ask, why do you have a kickass ridge, but will not spend the money on like a 560 or 6950

First build, really new to the whole hardware game, the company just wooed me with it's flashiness. I'm probably going to spring for a new card at the end of the summer, if you're willing to PM me your suggestions! In response to others: I will have to give that a try, but I should be getting better FPS standard with this new card regardless correct?

Not too long ago I built a new rig and I decided to upgrade my graphics card. My old card is an ATI HD 4770 and I got myself an ATI HD 6750. I used the 6750 for a while and wasn't getting great performance with my games. EXAMPLE: with x8 antistropic filtering and 2x antialiasing and everything else maxed out I get max 40 fps in left 4 dead 2, that includes overclocking. When I thought to try my 4770 and compared it on l4d2, I could play on max settings and get a consistent 60 fps. I'm a little confused because everything is more powerful about this card... Why am I not getting a performance boost? I've tried getting the latest drivers for both and nothing really helps. Furthermore, when I try running two videos at once (just as a performance test) on dual monitors, my 6750 can almost reliably play one and the 2nd barely plays.... slow framerates and almost no response to the time seek slider. The 4770 can handles two HD movies on two monitors without a hiccup. Please help!

Some other examples are:

Running Crysis 2 at max settings on 1660x900 res

6750 OCed: 30-35 FPS

4770: 40-45 FPS

My other Hardware:

p7p55de-LX mobo

Intel i7 870 2.93GHz processor

8GB Corsair Vengance RAM

8GB Crucial RAM

RAIDMAX Hybrid 630W PSU

some games (like fallout 3/new vegas) yeah I will go out of my way to complete as many sidequests as possible. I mean most of the time they're not so much side-quests as just random encounters with people that you can do for fun and cool prizes. Some games have side-quests that seem somewhat tedious and the rewards do not justify the tedium.

I wouldn't pay 50$, unless you won't/can't DD for some reason, just wait 'til a weekend and get it for 37$ish. But it's quite good, as much hate as it's gotten, it's not CoDish, so the reviews suck, but that's why it's good imo.

Anyway TotalBiscuit did a "wtf is..." on brink, it's quite good imo, rather than a useless review, it's more in depth and he plays the mp for a couple matches.

WTF is BRINK?

It's a bit un-optimized for ATi being that it's OpenGL, my 5850 gets about 30-60fps with everything maxed 'cept AO off.

Inconsistancy

I actually just finished watching that. I think that the depth of that review was incredible and it really gave me a feel for what actual multiplayer looks like. I tried a single player game on my friends computer and it was kind of meh, but with actual people, as I kind of suspected it looks to be a fulfilling multiplayer experience. Thanks for the video! As for the pricetag, I've read in a couple of places we should be expecting a free dlc coming sometime in june, which should include a couple new maps (possibly?). I think it's worth highly considering, but I will sleep on it.

Well I've been surfing the high seas of the internets and have come across a variety of opinions of Brink. I hear on the PC it's exceptionally laggy, and the AI is stupid, but I looked at the recent patches and it looks like some of these errors are fixed. I haven't done too much surfing of the steam forums for brink. Are there folks out there that are playing it now, and if so how does it fare now that it has been patched? Would this game be worth the 50 dollar asking price?
