A few years back I gained the knowledge that many people could not beat or get far in Battletoads. I hated that game because of its difficulty, I'm glad I found out its not because I suck at the game...its just very difficult.

1)Games don't have to have an online component. You are talking about specific games, and ignoring others. Two that come to mind, Deus Ex: HR, and Elder Scrolls series (don't mention the online game, because that is a different game entirely)
2. Rockstar games.
More specifically, GTA IV.
30-60 hours for each DLC, and it wasn't on the disc.
3. Me too, but I think the gaming industry deserves the honour of going green.
4. Updates are better than they are worse. Take Perfect Dark for example, that game could've had a serious update, but because of it being released in the era it was, it was not. And again just like the first point you made, you are talking about specific companies. Dice actually spends the time to make sure the update the game long enough to get it right. Balancing multiplayer games is no easy task, and its far easier for companies if that massive communities telling them what is wrong with the game.
5. Again, you are talking about specific games. BF3, Deus Ex: HR, MGS series, all series that are long running.

Like most retro gamers today, you only see the negative, you only see the bad examples, but never the good.

1. More and more games are pushing online...when particualr genre's/titles don't need it.

2. GTA IV?????? I had friends beat that DLC in about 7 hours. If it took you 60 hours to beat Gay Tony then your mentally challenged. DLC is getting out of hand, I can't play half of my 360 games because I dont have the required DLC. WTF?!

3. Downloading is ok...but are we going to get good deals from Sony/Microsofts servers...or are we gonna have games full price for like 3+ years. If a big game was to release is the server gonna crash due to the influx of people? Do I need to be hooked to the internet to play my game? Digital games just sound stupid and I dont like it.

4. Gears, Halo, plenty of BIG games had updates for the most part changed games entirely...leave the games alone I say...unless its sorry to begin with. People complained Gears shotgun was too powerfull so they weakened every gun...then another update brought the shotgun back to its prime...but left everyt other gun weak. WTF!? And yes thats true I played Gears online with teams for years, we watched every change.

5. Sequels for the sake of sequels.....remember back when the next Resident Evil was coming out....next Mario.....next Forza....next Call of Duty. It was huge, you said oh boy this is gonna be leaps and bounds over the previous. Well now it aint. Mario is ehhh ever since all the NSMB's and Galaxy 2. Call of Duty is more washed out then New Orleans after Katrina hit....and Resident Evil 5 is about as scary as a bowl of Quisp, and 6 looks the same. Forza 1 was good, 2 improved upon it....3 improved much more....4 just has more tracks and cars, and was a KINECT cash in.

NES VS SMS = Winner NES. I knew NOBODY who had a SMS, they were big in Europe...thats about it. NES is still better IMO.

SNES vs GENESIS = Winner Genesis. I loved both...but I preferred graphics on the Genesis on alot of games and I just spent more time playing Genesis overall. Very close match-up though.

N64 VS SATURN = Winner N64. The Saturn was ok....just ok! The only time I've heard people praise and go crazy about the Saturn is when I read fanboys on here talking about it. The N64 had the better games, graphics, and I bet most of your friends had one. Who didn't!?

DreamCast vs Gamecube = Winner Dreamcast. On paper the Gamecube wins...it lasted longer, sold more, and was superior in terms of hardware. Both lacked DVD players, and Dreamcast offered online servers and web browsing (no fanboys...the 1 or 2 GC games that could be played online doesn't count), and both brought great games to the table....but...I played my Dreamcast far more, had GC not had Resident Evil, then I would not have bought it to begin with.

Game Gear and Nomad vs Gameboy, GBC, GB Advance = Sega. It took too long for Nintendo to make a handheld to compete with a decade old handheld. Sorry Nintendo.

The Ridge Racer games are HARD to get into...but do become a little addictive the more you play in my experience. The only Arcade racing games I've really had fun with were the old school Test Drive, TD 5 to name a big one. PGR 1-4 and Metropolis Street Racer are great. Sega Rally has always been ok. NFS use to be good, the last NFS games I somewhat enjoyed were Wanted and Underground 2. Mario Kart of course is good.

As far as Burnout...I never did care for those games.

Theres a few others I've had fun with.

Simulators were always my favorite. Started with Gran Turismo 1...then Sega GT 2002...then Forza 1-3. Thats where my gaming ended.
