While there are some politics behind the decisions...a lot of it is probably just personal taste. The guys at gamespot seem to be much more into the xbox and it's online capabilties. and they bring it up every time Sony chooses to leave it out. I'm surprised they didn't mention lack of online gameplay with this game like they do with every other single player sony game. That right there is the biggest reason uncharted, heavenly sword, R&C got lower scores.

yet the terrible stories and sense of adventure seem to have no effect on the score of most games that feature online multi-player.

[QUOTE="Karycam718"]OK people lets understand the feats of geeting this game is portable is remarkable within itself you can't get this quality of game on no portable system at all a 8.5 doesn't serve this game any justice a 9.8 is definitely needed for this game no portable game made can come even close to the quality of GoW I'm definitely dissapointed in this review i'm very very upset w/ Gamespot for this!GamerForca

9.8 is a joke. Have you ever owned another handheld? Zelda PH felt much better than CoO, and is over four times as long (even longer if you do many side quests). Come on guys.... didn't Sony say the point of the PSP was to get a console experience on a handheld? CoO isn't as good.... the end. CoO is probably my favorite PSP game so far, but 5 hours is VERY disappointing.

length of a game does not determine the quality of the game. bioshock is a perfect example.. 15+ hours total, but if you take out all of the required nonsensical back-tracking and item collecting (collect 9 canisters) the game only has about 2-3 hours of gameplay that reveals any advancments in story.

GoW: Olympus deserves its 8.5 rating. with the main story taking only 7 hours or less, yep 8.5 will do.boybrushdred

when did length of games become more important than story and gameplay? 7 hours for a portable game is pretty decent

yeah I don't get it either. There are a ton of good games. Castlevania is cool, R&C is great, Wipeout pulse is sick, patapon is decent, and god of war in a few weeks. I still have to play the burnout games. just throw some movies on there if you are getting bored. or buy another system with that money you are not spending on games. seems weird to me, there are plenty of options.

yeah, walmart dropping HD-DVD has got to be the final blow.

Everyone thought Sony was crazy for putting a blu-ray player in the PS3 but it definitely payed off for them. I applaud Sony for taking such a big step forward. if they hadn't blu-ray would probably be dead too. and now video games can move into the future knowing that there is a new standard. no reason to have two or three types of formats.

it really depends on the games you are interested in. most online games are better on xbox. but PS3 will have haze and UT3 soon. plus warhawk is pretty fun. cod4 is good too on ps3 but I can't unsderstand anyone. but when I had the beta on xbox the voice chat was perfect.

I don't doubt that sony will get their online network situated at some point but it is taking a little bit of time. Where as microsoft seems to have the whole online software thing down pretty good. but keep in mind Microsoft doesn't have the hardware experience that sony has...I'm sure you've heard plenty already about 1 in 3 xboxes breaking.

if only they would join forces...
sony hardware, microsoft software...

VoIP - voice over IP. online chatting. it's very lackluster on the PS3 at least for me. I've had some good luck with the USB headsets but not all the time and the Bluetooth headsets are just too noisy and noone seems to be able to talk to each other.
this is just my experience. I had an xbox when I was into gears and PGR3 and those headsets worked perfect for me. coming from that it's a huge difference.

ps3 in the bedroom is a bad idea...leave that room for other pleasures.
