My R button stopped working awhile back, but then it was fine, then it was broken and now it's fine again. It makes playing Mario Kart DS kind of tricky :P I'd just get a new one... or wait for the DSi. I use those L and R buttons quite a bit, but it depends on what you like to play.

Crisis Core has a lot more to do in terms of lasting appeal. I'd play that one again.

I like Crisis Core a lot. Star Ocean wasn't bad either, but since it's a remake of an older game, the pacing wasn't as good. Crisis Core was tailored for the PSP so I was able to beat it while commuting by train. Both worth checking out, but Crisis Core is one of my favouite games of the year :)

Professor Layton and the Curious Village has a lot of great brain teasers with an interesting story to boot. I had fun with the Brain Age game and Big Brain Academy was fun with other people. Tetris DS is good too, Mario Kart DS, New Super Marios Bros... depends on what he likes, there's a lot!

Are you actually saying that your son is about 6 or 7 years old and is playing Call of Duty but you want him to branch out and play more puzzle/educational games? O_O
