When I was a bit younger I enjoyed the heck outta the Narnia books. As a lil kid, it really sparked my imagination, and the books along with C.S. Lewis have been an inspiration for my love for creative writing. I still love em' to death, but when it comes to the movies, y'know, it's more of a "meh" situation. I did like the first one, and then when we got to Prince Caspian I was stuck with a guy who couldn't make up his mind over an American or Spanish accent.
On the flipside, LOTR movies are my 2nd favorite movies-the creativity, the landscape and choice of filming spots, the story, the events...everything played together beautifully. I recall going to the theaters to see the extended Return of the King which was something like 4 and a half hours long, I loved it. As for the LOTR books, they're a bit of a chore for me and I've only gotten through the Hobbit fully. In a contest between CON and LOTR though LOTR wins by a landslide :)
