I definitely haven't been disappointed by the volume of games on VC. But then I see games like Virtua Figher 2 and Bravo Man, and I am absolutely bemused. Who considered titles like these to be classics again?

Otherwise, for the most part I'm ok with the selection that has been released. As expected, Nintendo is only sprinkling the REAL classics one by one--and why wouldn't they? If they are going to release all the classics at once the novelty will wear off much faster, as the collection of AAA games is by no means vast enough to provide for a sustainable online service. Also, I'm sure a lot of those games, while not excellente, bring back sweet memories to people. I sure as heck don't see Comix Zone as a perfect game, but I remember being greatly amused by the panel layout and crisp styling of the game when it first game out. A lot of people will by the borderline classics merely because of the nostalgia--you know, the sepia effect :)

As for prices, remember that VC games are a 1-up on the cart originals mostly because of their convenience. With the VC game, you can't lose them once you've bought them. Even if the game is deleted off your memory, or by some other means corrupted, you can simply re-download it because of Nintendo's one-time buy policy. And as for any service where you buy the product from home, the price is higher due to the convenience of not going to the store to make the purchase. I still think $8 is a bit high for any sega or nintendo games though.

Would all the three-star ranked guys, who did not snake to achieve that rank, please raise their hands.

Being a three-star guy, I think a lot of people assume I had to snake to get single-player times like that (I didn't, but I love multi-drifting around corners). As testimony, I will say having tried both styles, I still have much more respect for those excel while non-snaking. Before I was a 3-star guy, I actually wasn't bad online (W-L ratio 3:1), but it was extreme snakers who pushed me to prove you didn't have to use that technique to be good. Having played both styles, my personal opinion is that snaking is a lot less fun than it could be because you really don't get to use weapons as they are intended (try shooting a green shell accurately while drifting side to side), and most of the races really becomes a sweaty, blister-inducing blur as you try not to go off the track. It's a skill, but its also a skill with no applicability outside of the game ie. you really can't snake in any other racing platforms (F-Zero the exception), so that style likely won't improve your broader racing skills.

As of now, I don't race online anymore, but I have to admit that it was quite entertaining having the three-star rating displayed and racing against the occasional snaker who would screw up once and quit believing they had no chance against me or screw up constantly because of the intimidation factor even though I never used that method (well...maybe on Baby Park or Figure 8, its a sin not to snake on those ones :)).

By this argument, you are essentially saying that the Wii is following the path of the PS1.

You initially say nintendo has made a system that specializes in cheap-to-develop games, but you say most of the good dev teams are working with Mircosoft and Sony (and assume they will continue to?) because less effort is needed to develop a game with more computing power. You kind of are making the fallacy of equivocation though, by saying a system is more graphically powerful, devs will continue to contract themselves to that system simply because of the prettier product that results.

So...the N64 was a graphically superior platform, but its better performance didn't keep all those 3rd party devs hooked. PS won by a landslide, and with inferior graphics. This argument is definitely debatable.

Really? It's neat, but I think like the NES's orange one it will get kind of old. I mean, even with a gun controller I'm still going to be shooting at a TV, not a real zombie or something. Arcade enthusiasts will prolly like it, but I think the average gamer won't be overwhelmed. The wiimote is enought like a gun already:point and fire.

And is it really easier? What if you have to access your inventory in a FPS? I've never complained about using a controller in a FPS, so I might pass on this one.

What's the pricein US $ btw?

what the heck with people having more than one copy of each game???????????dsplayer1010

Lots of people have siblings/relatives who have the same copy of a game, so I imagine lots of people are just including those copies in the collection. With more than one copy you can play multiplayer with a family member/friend and some games only have one save file so if another member of a household wants to play the game they have to get an extra copy. Animal Crossing is an example of a game where you would have to have a copy for each person who wants to play.
